Description:
New York: Pantheon Books, 1968. First Edition. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Very Good. 8vo (203 pages, index.). Hubertus Lauwers, a Dutch Section SOE radioman captured by the Germans was part of a German plan to “turn” radio agents and send false messages in order to obtain important allied information. One of the greatest German successes of World War II, and an incredible failure on the part of the Allies, Lauwers attempts to inform the British of his capture were ignored and agents continued to be sent into Holland, where they were either captured or killed. A fine copy, in dust jacket with chipped spine head.
