She was born in Berlin into a German Christian family. She was married first to Dr. Max Remy (in her writings she still signed herself Nahida Remy), after whose death she married the German philosopher Professor Moritz Lazarus in 1895.

Nehida Remy was a German Christian novelist and feminist activist who converted to Judaism in the later part of her life. This book was written in 1891 before her conversion while she was still studying Judaism with Moritz Lazarus, whom she later married. Translated from German by Louise Mannheimer. Head and tail of spine rubbed and chipped. Corners bumped. Boards starting, but still intact. Overall in good condition.
