Tissue-guarded colour frontis plus numerous b/w text illustrations. x and 294 pages plus 24 page publisher adverts to rear. Front edge of spine fraying and split to outside edge. Corners lightly worn. Inscription in ink to half-title page. Frontispiece present but detached. A few hinges starting to pull. Some grubby marks present.

Cambridge: MacMillan & Co, 1861. With illustrations. Rubbed and bumped, particularly to head of spine which has a few small tears. Crack to binding halfway through, and from then onwards, pages uncut, else pp clean and bright.. Hard. Good/No Jacket. 12mo.
