A rare, 1st edition of William Howard Russell's account of the Crimean War. Russell was an Irish reporter for the London Times, known to be one of the first 19th-century war correspondents who made his name known for covering the Siege of Sevastopol.

This 1856 printing of 'Complete History of the Russian War' features impressive, folding color maps including the famous 'Siege Operations of Sebastopol', which is often known to be extracted from this work. It also includes double-page engravings of battle scenes.
