Description:
London: Melville Press by George Allen & Unwin; (1948). First Edition . Hardcover. Very good in a very good dust jacket. Light green cloth is faded on the spine, with light fading in other spots. Cloth is a little wrinkled in places. Endpapers are darkened as is the case with many UK editions. The colorful blue and yellow jacket has small chips at edges, with some rubbing and little edge tears. The author, a pianist, traveled from Berlin to London the long way around from 1938 to 1942. This is a book about that trip.
