A beautiful little book, bound in real cloth. This is the American edition, but printed (and apparently bound) in Britain by Latimer, Trend & Co. Ltd, Plymouth. The book is opening widely but the sewn binding is firm and the hinges are intact. Cloth and gilt titles are unfaded; a little wear to cloth at lower edges. A rather large mark on one page, light pencil marks on flyleaf, small spot last numbered page, else pretty clean. Pages are lightly toned. Unclipped, soiled dustjacket has sun-darkened spine, a 3/4" tear at bottom edge of front panel, a shorter tear near spine, and edgewear at bottom spine-end. The beauty of the dark blue cloth spine with its gilt titles may lead you to ditch the dustjacket as unworthy of the book.

Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Unclipped jacket has light edgewear with tears and creasing. Light tanning to spine and edges.
