Most addressed and postally used, three numbers pulled at staples and with tears to spines, one number with pencil doodling on upper wrapper, some creases and dust soiling to a few numbers, some staple rust, but generally good to very good, and somewhat better. A substantial run of this monthly: Volume I: 2-4, 6-12; Volume II: 1/2-12; Volume III:6 and Volume IV:6. Some wear and small chips, most issues have "free" written in pencil. Overall very good. A partial run of this important African-American journal published at Fisk from 1943 to 1948 under the direction of Fisk President Charles S. Johnson, an important figure behind the vibrant African-American art movement of the 1920s and one of the godfathers of the Harlem Renaissance, which he helped to nurture through his editorship of *Opportunity* magazine. The *Summary* aggregated magazine and newspaper articles important to the subject of race relations, segregation, housing, welfare, civil rights, police administration, and much more.
