Description:
[Comanche, Tx, 1940. Good.. [52]pp. Self-wrappers, stapled; rear cover lacking. Contemporary ink inscription on title page. Moderate wear and soiling, newspaper clipping laid in causing tanning to text. An unrecorded community cook book published by the First Baptist Church of Comanche, Texas. Comanche is a small town in central Texas, about eighty miles southwest of Fort Worth. Each recipe identifies the contributor, and range from meats to pies to salads to preserves. Highlights include Tongue Salad, Chicken Croquettes, World's Fair Cake, Chile Sauce, and Watermelon Rind Preserves. The work is full of ads for local businesses. None in OCLC. A rare survivor.
