Bruce Quarrie (1947 in London - September 4, 2004) was an English writer on war-gaming and militaria topics. Quarrie studied English at Peterhouse College, Cambridge University and graduated in 1968. He became a journalist with the Financial Times and then in 1972 joined Patrick Stephens Limited, a Cambridge specialist publisher, as editor of Airfix Magazine, which PSL produced. This a weekly program in a regular time slot. Show gave listeners information agout social security rights and benefits. On the verso are the pencil signatures of the New South Wales team for the match against Queensland, 24-28 October 1952 (SSM 434). The heavyweights are Miller (Captain), Barnes, Benaud, Burke, Carroll (12th man), Craig, Davidson, de Courcy, Flockton, Lindwall, Morris, Trueman (and Sydney Trumper, the Manager). Barnes, Lindwall, Miller and Morris toured with the Invincibles; Benaud, Craig, de Courcy, Davidson, Lindwall, Miller and Morris toured in 1953, while Burke, Flockton and Trueman were selected for a private tour to India in 1953-54, sponsored by the Board of Control for Cricket in India - it failed to get Australian Board of Control approval. Some uneven discolouration to the NSW side of the paper, otherwise in excellent condition.

Ornate silver close-clasp with silver studs to the corners of the back panel. White silk doublure. Generalized wear to the extremities with a closed tear to 1 side of the spine. Remains uncommonly well-preserved. ; 8vo 8"" - 9"" tall; Many have the original tissue-guards still intact. All but 1 seem to have been produced at the Nymetz studio and printed on stiff card. 1 was produced at the H.A Clapham studio in Swansea, England (likely a close relative with 2 young children of the main Pennsylvania family). 1 further postcard portrait was produced at the Dittrich studio, Atlantic City, N.J. (again, likely to be a relative).
