M. Burden III. Includes tributes by Arnold Wolfers and Tom Braden. Mr. Burden came from distinguished lineage; after earning an M.B.A. from Harvard, he served as a correspondent for the New York Times at the Presidential Nomination Convention in Chicago in 1952, and later worked as a reporter for The Washington Post and subsequently at the Johns Hopkins University Washington Center for Foreign Policy Research.
