A nicely designed and produced book with wonderful b&w illustrations after pencil drawings. OCLC: 8102561 John Shirley Fox (c. 18601939) was a Victorian painter who painted primarily Scottish landscapes. Shirley-Fox lived in London and was educated in Paris in Bouguereau's Atelier at the Academie Julian. Beyond painting, his enthusiasms included numismatics and dry fly fishing in the chalk streams of southern England. This book incorporates his penchant for fishing with his artistic endeavors. .
