Salinger, Nabokov, William Golding. 8vo, deep yellow cloth with black lettering on spine, scant shelf wear, slightly cocked, pale tan stains to end papers, in rubbed and worn unclipped DJ with 1/4" chip at crown and light foxing/soil to interior. Underscoring and marginalia in pencil by former owner Prof. Warner Berthoff on approximately 15 pages are concentrated in the chapter on Musil. Two laid-in newspaper clippings, reviews of other books by Kermode from the TLS and the NYT Book Review, are protected with tissue paper to prevent further staining.
