Illustrated with b&w photos, a few ms. facsimiles, and sketches by Kafka. 8vo, gray cloth with lettering entirely faded and spine/margins age-browned, entire book - pages and cloth - wavy from long-ago water damage, gray topstain, edges/end papers age-tanned and soiled, book cocked, front hinge cracked. Name of former owner written on ffep mostly washed away, pencil notation on ffep, underscoring and/or marginalia on approximately 125 pages.
