Moskva, Planeta, 1975.Illustrated endpapers.This photobook is about the history of Russian polar exploration, researches, nature, and daily life in the Arctic and the Antarctica was prepared by the Soviet photographer Gennady Koposov (1938-2001). He was 17 years old when his first photograph was published in a newspaper. In 1950s, he joined the Soviet news agency ITAR TASS and in 1960 he started working for the magazine Ogonyok where he stayed until his death. He won the World Press Photo contest in 1964.
