[Rostov-on-Don], Rostovskoe knizhnoe izdatel'stvo, 1960.Limited to 90 000 copies.The first and only edition of these illustrations in a Russian edition. Rare provincial edition.
The translator, Aleksandr Olenich-Gnenenko (1893–1963), a journalist and poet, lived in Omsk and then in Rostov-on-Don. His translations of Edgar Allan Poe's verses are still highly valued. Cover design and illustrations were prepared by Anatoliy Mosin (1924-1979), a Rostov artist, caricaturist and poster artist.
OCLC locates six copies of this edition: in the University of Texas Library, the Kansas State University Library, the Wayne State University, the Columbia University Library, the USC Library (Cassady Lewis Carroll Collection) and the UC Davis Library.
