One of 500 copies published. Underground magazine, which was issued in Omsk in collaboration with Tatiana Ezhova, an editor of Kiev's samizdat magazine Guchnomovetc (Loudspeaker; 1988-1991). This issue consists articles from Guchnomovetc about rock events (Miss Rock 1988, 'Total Goodbye' - First Independent Music Festival in USSR, etc.), bands (Vopli Vidopliassova, Kollezhskyi Asessor, Rabbota XO, etc.) and lyrics. OCLC locates one copy of this edition only: in the British Library.

In original illustrated wrappers. In good condition, worn to the cover and edges, tears on the cover. Rare rock ephemera. This issue is a supplement to Okhota (Hunting) underground rock magazine (1990-1993), which was prepared and published by folk rock band Ado from Kolomna (Moscow region). It's consists of the articles about the music festival in Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Bob Dylan concert at Eisenhower Hall Theatre (translation of an extract from Rolling Stone magazine), interview with Mitki art group (Vladimir Shinkarev, Dmitri Shagin and Vasily Golubev), and poster of Ado band. We couldn't trace any copy of this edition in USA or European libraries via OCLC.

These issues include articles about events and festivals, Rostov rock bands, interviews (with Andrei Panov - the founder of Avtomaticheskie udovletvoriteli band, the first punk in the USSR; with Boris Grebenshchikov - co-founder of Aquarium; Kirill Miller - artist-painter, etc.), the open letter to soviet leaders about rock music by the founder of Alisa band Svyatoslav Zadery, verses by poet and punk singer Yanka Dyagileva (committed suicide at the age of 24) and leader of the band Zoopark Mike Naumenko (died in August 1991), translated articles from Rolling Stone magazine, extracts from David Bowie Archive by Chris Charlesworth, translated lyrics by Metallica.

Description:
Rare samizdat edition of the verses and poem 'Gorbunov and Gorchakov' by Joseph Brodsky. The poem revolves around conversations between Gorbunov and Gorchakov, both of whom are depicted as patients in a mental asylum, resembling a prison-like environment. Brodsky composed this 'auto-therapeutic' poem, often referred to as 'long verses,' between 1965 and 1968. It stands as one of Brodsky's most extensive works, comprising 1,398 verses.
In 1963, at the age of 23, Brodsky was involuntarily admitted to the Kashchenko psychiatric clinic in Moscow and subsequently transferred to Psychiatric Hospital No. 2 ('Priazhka') in Leningrad. This was a result of compulsory treatment due to Brodsky's perceived 'social parasitism' and dissident activities. Following his release in March 1964, Brodsky was sentenced to exile.
The poem was first published in the book 'Ostanovka v pustyne' (Stop in the Desert; New York, 1970) and became available in Russia only in 1999. Its first English publication occurred in the book… Read More
