Promotional four panel brochure, illustrated, minor staining, creased horizontally as issued, along with a single sheet printing on both sides with a list of available books by the Nearing, and singled sheet printed on onside only reprinting a review of Scott Nearing's "The Making of a radical," all folded as issued.

Portland ME; Madison WI: Communicating Vessels, 2004. Six issues of the staplebound photocopied zine, very good; numbers present are vol. 1 nos. 6-10 and 15. A handwritten note laid into no. 6 from Mutual Aid Portland, signed "Anthony," indicates that older issues were re-photocopied when the need arose.

Paperback. 149p., two lengthy personal inscriptions to the author's neighbors, signed twice by her and with annotations in a different ink on the inscriptions, old price sticker on rear wrap, else very good first edition trade paperback in pictorial wraps. Third in a series of lesbian-detective novels from the Berkeley-based author.

Wiseasset, Maine: Margaret Fuller Womens History Research Center, 1984. 39p., very good in staplebound wraps. Second edition. Booklet celebrating the poet and early feminist activist, a Maine native.

[Augusta, ME?]: [publisher not identified], 1880. Staplebound. 30, [2]pp., wraps. 8.5 x 6 in. A summary report on the Greenback Controversy, in which voter fraud was alleged in the contested Maine state election of 1879. Alonzo Garcelon, a former Republican and opponent of "radical Republicanism"-turned-Democrat, contested the results of the September 1879 election, in which Democrats lost the governor's office and seats in the state legislature to the Republican Party. Garcelon alleged that Democrat votes were suppressed and Republicans installed in the state legislature by means of bribery. Republicans led by Republican state senator James Blaine descended on the state capital to protest and Garcelon left office in January 1880. The Hale Committee was formed in February of 1880 to investigate the events, and it is this committee's work which is criticized in the present tract, commissioned by Garcelon and his political allies in the Democratic Party.

Portland, ME: Maine Gay Task Force, 1978. Newsletter. Twenty-two issue broken run of the newsletter, various pagination, 7x8.5 inches, news, events, services & resources, very good in stapled wraps. New England Gay & Lesbian organization. With vol. 4, #1 the newsletter changed the name to Mainely Gay. Issues include: vol. 3:4-11; vol. 4:1-11; vol. 5:1-3. April 1976 - July 1978.

2015. Newsletter. 16p., illus. & cartoons, folded newspaper brochure, in very good condition on newsprint. Issues included: vol. 38, no 1-2 (2012-2013); vol. 39, no. 1-2 (2013-2014); vol. 40, no. 1-2 (2014-2015). Only the first issue from 1974 is listed in OCLC (10/2021). Founded in 1974, the newsletter initially addressed peace in Vietnam. The present issues reflect that lineage as it followed the anti-war movement in Iraq and the Occupy movement. Some topics include Jacques Rancière on Politics, student debt, nonviolent action, and Occupy Wallstreet. MPAC is funded in part by the University of Maine Student Government.

Biddeford, ME: Franco-American Genealogical Society, 1984. First fourteen issues of the newsletter, 8.5x11 inches, neatly hole-punched at left for storage in binder. Essays and short research articles on the ties between France and Nouvelle France, with much overlapping discussion of Quebec. Emblem on cover is a triangle linking outlines of France, Canada and Maine.

Receipt for a payment in advance of $3.00 for "board, washing, nursing, medicine, medical and surgical treatment during any disability or sickness (except venereal disease or any disease contracted previous to the purchase of this ticket)" within six months after issuance. A form of medical insurance. Fold-creased; rubberstamped by E.W. Kingsbury in Newport.

Augusta ME: Published by William M. Ladd, 1825. Leather Bound. xii, 240p., hardbound in full calf; a small book, 7x4 inches, the hide is tree calf with back board restorable to very presentable condition, while front cover is scuffed with a branded area probably on the live cow. Front cover, most seriously, is detached or soon will be, and the first blank is detached. Spine is scuffed with split-lines along both joints, spine label of black leather remains legible, the six transverse gilt rulings are very rubbed. Textblock generally good but expect a few light creasings, some light dampstain, a few turned corner-tips; also, the textblock used to have tinted edges, specks of blue-grey adhere to the outermosts. Handleable, readable copy worthy of restortion. Wiki: b.England, sometimes known as 'the Quaker poet,' an 1818 collection protested the death penalty and severest incarceration.

Rockland, ME: Courier-Gazette Press, 1946. Pamphlet. [12]p., portrait, wraps. 6.25 x 3.75 in. Author's presentation inscription on inside of front cover, dated "Thanksgiving 1947.". Early volume by the Maine poet. The poems are about seasons, faith, and patriotism. A portrait of the artist as a young man is on the title page verso. Connellan served as Connecticut's second poet laureate; a NY Times report noted that "A press release from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts announcing Mr. Connellan's appointment as poet laureate stressed that he has frequently been described as a voice for and to America's working class." Not located in OCLC as of July 2023 (predating his first book there by 28 years).
