Author brought up in India, honors in economics, "long career in banking and finance that has taken him to over thirty countries." This his fourth book is a love story, urbanized wealthy jet-setters familiar with Miami and Dallas (where heroine's father made a fortune in military supplies), shopping Harrods in London, has New Age undertones.

Stamped "do not release before "25 mar 1975" The Committee's first extensive inquiry into the problems faced by these groups. Reports on "The problems facing Asian Americans and Pacific Peoples in California." Disputes the Model Minority Myth as it is applied to Asian Americans; recommends "a special census of all Asian Americans and Pacific Peoples" as well as hiring more bilingual staff and materials available from social service agencies.

Silver Spring, MD: Patriots Publications, 1993. Staplebound. 120p., illustrations, wraps. 11 x 9 in. Shelf wear to covers. Patriots was a magazine that specialized in commemorative issues for heritage months for use in schools, libraries, and kits of various sorts.

Presents a "typology of cultural assimilation to identify the stages of assimilation and explain the characteristics of each stage," intended for a general audience. The inaugural publication of the Jaisohn Foundation (est. 1975), which honors the legacy of a physician and the first Korean to acquire naturalized citizenship and obtain a medical degree from a U.S. American institution.

Casing has a tiny nick at the tail, an else unhandled undamaged copy.

Berkeley: printed by Herff Jones [a Kansas printery] for the university, 1999. 252p., b&w atmospheric portraits throughout (uncaptioned) with only Senior class shown in individual mugshots, obviously designed with minimal student participation (or enthusiasm) and no autographs or ownership signature. A fine unhandled copy. FYI, the word "Defining," showcased on cover in English and 7 other languages, and explained on half-title, appears to be an attempt to ingratiate with Bus.Ad.-style hype.

Cambridge, MA: Hutchins Center for African & African American Research, 2017. Handbill. 5.5x8.5 inch double-sided handbill; photo., in very good condition.

New York: A Joint Production of the Los Angeles County Mueum of Art [and] Universe Publishing; distributed by St. Martin's Press, 2000. Unpaginated, manufactured in Thailand with lots of hand-work, an ambitious 3-D compendium of high and low art, many pop-up styles and pop-up devices on display here, not entirely successful but a good try. Things inset tend to fall out of their compartments, the Golden Gate Bridge is unwieldy, the Watts Towers rather bland, and so on. We should mention triumphs: the glassed-in elevated Case Study House, Gehry's Concert Hall, plus general excellences such as the wonderful welter of color, and, well, back to "ambitious." This copy is just out of its shrinkwrap and we haven't lost any pieces yet! - so hurry.

A who's who of the multicultural left contributed to the magazine -- Angela Davis, Cherrie Moraga, June Jordan, Gary Delgado, Mike Davis, Rinku Sen, Gloria Anzaldúa and many others, covering issues of race, culture and class throughout the Americas, Africa, and more.
