Overall internally good. The 6 folding plates detached and with some marginal damp marking and browning. First published the preceding year. In need of rebinding and priced to allow for such

Frontispiece and 4 engraved plates as called for. 8vo (8 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches), pages: (40):400, contemporary full dark tan calf; rubbed, backstrip very chipped. Blank lower fore-corner of one leaf torn away without loss, another leaf torn also without loss. Crack at one inner gutter but firm. Hinges cracked but holding. Generally internally very good. Early name, Mrs Arthur Hobby, and address on recto of frontispiece.

August 18th 1763-August 28th 1764. Approx. 200 items are listed totalling £10. 8. 1/2d. Listed are faggots at 1d each, Butter at 2d for 4oz, 1lb 2oz of cheese at 4d, etc. etc. Edge wear. With another single sheet, May 1st - June 1st 1764 totalling £0.11. 1 1/2d, this for 1lb 6 oz of Bacon at 11d etc.

London: Baldwin, Cradock, and Joy, 1824. First edition. Engraved title vignette, other engraved vignettes and pictorial initials. 4to (11 1/2 x 9 inches), pages: xvi:408, the half-title is present. Attractively bound 20th Century 3/4 tan calf, marbled boards, spine gilt ruled and with burgundy lettering piece, uncut. A good large copy. Some light foxing, discolouration from damp/mould affecting the lower blank fore-corner of pages 99-167 a few corners with damage, occasional marginal light foxing; overall good.

Ward, Lock, London, 1923. Thick 8vo (8 5/8 x 6 x 3 3/4 inches), 1,680-pages. Original red blinstamped & gilt-lettered cloth backed green cloth boards. In very cood condition.

Folio, pp.256, original cloth in dustwrapper; slight shelf-rubbing to back of dustwrapper and with a very narrow strip of fading to front of dustwrapper along edge of spine (barely noticeable), else in all other respects, an excellent copy.

Lacking backstrip, crudely re-stitched, boards very darkened and rubbed, browning or foxing within, stitching slack, piece of blank margin torn away. Poor but very rare; no copy on Copac.
