Amsterdam: c. 1630. Contemporary colour. Image size 13 5/8 x 19 1/4 inches, ample margins as overall size is 18 x 21 34 inches. Relatively uniform tanning to margins, some brown showthrough of colour to text on reverse. Latin text. In very good condition with no tears.

J. W. Arrowsmith, Bristol, 1911. First edition. Numerous plates ad folding map. 8vo (8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches), 446-pages. Original red cloth blocked in black. Spine faded and marked, one plate worn on blank fore-margin where once proud, another with 1 1/2 inch tear without loss, some marking to the bottom of the text block. Bookplate.

Coloured lithographic frontispiece and 25 plates of which 24 are coloured lithographs, and a tipped in "facsimile of $3 receipt chair-hire printed on genuine Japanese paper (brought home by the author)" together with 4 illustrations in the text and two maps, one folding. 8vo (9 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches), 380-pages, original red cloth the upper cover blocked in gilt with a Paddy-reaper. Spine faded, else a very good copy, Prize label on front pastedown.

Macmillan, London, 1896. One of 500 copies of the Large Paper edition with 12 Lithographs. Tall 8vo (10 3/4 x 7 inches), pages: xx;436, original burgundy cloth with printed paper label to spine, uncut. Front free endpaper removed, label chipped, crack at one inner gutter else very good indeed.

London: Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, 1856. Frontispiece and illustrations (largely after G. F. Angas). Small 8vo, pp.xvi:247, original cloth; binding faded and lightly worn at headbands, some spotting. Original owner's name stitched into upper cover. Front free endpaper removed, inner joints cracked, inscription on front pastedown. "The letters of the Bishop of New Zealand [i.e. George Augustus Selwyn] ... form a considerable portion of this work" -- preface.

A little spotting to the top of the text block of vol.1 else fine in the dust jackets which have fading to the backstrips. Weight 2.742 kg thus extra postage will be requested.

Frontispiece, plates, folding panorama, coloured pictorial wrappers retaine by the publishers. 4to (11 x 7 inches), 453-pages, original red bevelled cloth pictorially blocked in gilt, all edges gilt. Upper inner joint cracked. Spine dulled. 2-inch split to upper outer joint, snags to cloth of upper cover. Some browning. The folding map lacking having been excised by a lunatic at some time.

Folding street plans. 8vo (6 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches), pages: x:250, original red cloth, some loss of surface of front pastedown, neat library stamps of the Institution of Civil Engineers throughout. Although ex-library this is actually a very good copy indeed.

Frontispiece portrait of 'Nasr Ullah, present amir of Bokhara' but lacking the map. 8vo (9 1/8 x 5 3/4inches), pages: xxvi:(4):316, good modern full maroon buckram lettered in gilt. Portrait spotted and with corner damp mark. With the oval ink stamp of Magdalen College School, Benchley, on upper blank margin of title.Rare.

Lilly, Wait & Co. Boston 1833. Second edition, Enlarged and Improved. Engraved frontispiece with tissue guard, extra engraved title in sepia, engraved plates, vignette illustrations in the text, folding plan of Boston and folding map of the Environs of Boston, all complete and as called for. Small 8vo (6 1/8 x 3 7/8 inches), 316-pages. Contemporary full plum calf, sides ruled in gilt, spine ruled in gilt and gilt lettered direct. Spine a little sunned but overall very good indeed and very clean internally.

Bell and Daldry, London, 1861. First edition. Folding tinted lithographic frontispiece of Crecy and 5 tinted lithographic plates, illustrations, 8vo (10 x 6 3/4 inches), 326-pages. Contemporary half calf, joints and corners rubbed. The 3 fold frontispiece, 1 section is detached, the central panel torn though without loss. Signature on title and at head of contents leaf. Some foxing.

Folio (12 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches), 252-pages, original cloth-backed pictorial boards. Short tear to blank margin of title (no loss), corners rubbed otherwise overall a very nice copy indeed.
