This well loved 1902 First Edition contains some markings, age spots and a few words written inside by child owner (all shown in photos) The boards are worn, the spine has separation from the cloth of the underlying boards. there's bumping and some wear on the upper and lower spine. Front and back cover is acceptable with aging. (all photos show the deficiencies, damage and condition of the book)

Abridged and newly Edited with notes etc by J.M .Sloane from original 1828 edition.To which is added Thomas Carlyle's review essay. Dust Jacket seen in picture has a slight tear ar lower front spine and is chipped at corners and top of spine and slight folds on top and some staining . Not price clipped but has a pencil 2/- over original 4/-Brown boards with black design in good condition slight bumping at corners. Ink date Dec 1 1944 London and Milton quote inside. Robert Burns portrait inside with tissue guard. Clean inside

A lovely old book hard cover with a beautiful colour picture with tissue guard . The boards are red with Black and Gilt decorative box aroung the gilt and red title and author. Tight spine and minimal bumping at edges some marks as seen which could be cleaned . No dust jacket.

No date in book but William Briggs was taken over by Ryerson in 1919. So date of publication taken from the ownership date.

Hardcover with light green boards and gilt lttering on the front and spine. Some bumping on the corners A little staining on the spine and fading on the the back . No jacket sadly two front inside pages seem cut away see pricture to reveal the lovely artwork of the title page. the pages are clean all but one that has some staining from the pressing of a flower still within the pages see photos
