Ex-library with occasional rubber-stamped marks of the Sunday School Library of Providence, Rhode Island's Central Baptist Church. Gilt dull, brief edge wear, lightly soiled, sporadic foxing & toning, otherwise good.
Adoniram Judson (1788 - 1850) was one of the first Protestent missionariies to Burma where he served for almost forty years. Among other accomplishments, he translated the Bible into Burmese. Author Edward Judson, the subject's son & biographer, also a clergyman, was not born until 1844 & could not have known much of his father on a personal level.
