Soiled, foxed, couple small holes in the upper cover, moderate edge wear (including short tears & creasing), staples replaced, Good or so. Provides concise historical sketches of old Havana with accompanying illustrations. Additionally, of course, the pamphlet touts the company's beers which are "insuperable exquisite world-over known products, are our national pride, made 100% with the finest malts and best hops."
Quite uncommon, this version not found in OCLC although two copies with a variant publisher (described as the third edition) are located, one at the University of Illinois & another at the University of the West Indies as of 5/28/2023.

Broadsheet, 2 pp., small 4to (10" x 6"), with color-printed "map" from a woodcut on the recto depicting a train en route from "Drunkard's Curve" to the "Black Valley Country." The verso supplies statistics and "Questions for Study in Moral and Political Economy." Small losses at corners, a few tears without loss, otherwise very good.A variant available in various incarnations as early as 1863, this example not currently found in OCLC. The recto offers the "above map enlarged to 18 x 24 inches in colored lithograph sent by mail to any address for 50 cents," the verso offers the handbill at 3 cents each or $2 per hundred, to be ordered from the Crystal River Society of Boston. The map was also advertised in the Home Missionary (volume 60, 1887).

Lightly soiled & foxed, small stain on the unprinted lower cover, otherwise Very Good.
An elaborate menu for a "complimentary dinner presented to Col. D.S. Brown" at Manhattan's illustrious Colonial Club "by a few of his friends." Col. Brown was the first president of the club and about to embark on a tour of Egypt & Palestine. Two leaves bear the signatures in ink of attendees. The elegant meal featured Bouchée à la Montglas, Canvas-back Duck, & Diamond-back Terrapin a la Maryland.
As described in a contemporary account, "The menu cards were gotten up as souvenirs. Dorchester, Massachusetts: Walter Baker & Co., two 16mo volumes, 1905 & 1908, each with 64 pages plus 4 leaves of plates printed recto & verso providing chromolithograph illustrations of deserts or the company's products. Publisher's embossed, pictorial, stapled light card covers housed in an illustrated, ribbon-bound folding sleeve opening to pockets for the pamphlets.
Staples rusted, otherwise fine. Sleeve with minor foxing/ soiling, light edge wear including a couple ot short tears, ribbon tie a bit frayed.
The pamphlets have different introductions but present the same recipes & illustrations. The sleeve highlights the company's 1904 World's Fair Grand Prize & touts their "53 highest awards in Europe & America." Although thr recipe books are relatively common, we have never seen another example or even a reference for the sleeve.

The third issue of Oscar Haimo's digest which was published annually from 1943 until 1978. Haimo was the founder of the International Bar Managers' Association, the long-time bartender at New York City's Pierre Hotel, & the creator of the General MacArthur Cocktail.

The Savannah Sugar Refining Corporation was founded in 1916 & processed sugar from cane initially in Georgia, later expanding to Florida & Louisiana. The product line included Dixie Crystals, Evercane, Colonial, and Pioneer sugars. Merging in 1997 with Imperial Sugar, the operation continues today.
Featuring Chocolate Caramels, Pecan Patties, Walnut Brittle & more, the intriguing recipes in this charming pamphlet all seem to require the use of Dixie Crystals which, as we are informed, is "The Sweetest Sugar Ever Sold."

A small bored hole in the rear cover suggests that a second pin, most probably the United States flag, was once included, though now lacking. Laid in, & within folded card stock covers (elaborately printed in gilt & illustrated in color with the flags of the United States & Argentina intertwined & surmounted by an anchor), is the menu & program of music (printed in blue, red, & gilt), with glassine dust jacket Additionally laid in is a duplicate of the menu on thick, bevel-edged heavy card stock which is embossed in gilt with the seal of Boston's Hotel Somerset.

Illustrated card stock, single sheet measuring 6.5 inches by 16 inches folded once vertically as issued, cord bound to enclose a printed menu. Lightly soiled, toned, & foxed, trace edge wear, cording partially frayed, otherwise Very good. A really charming menu, the front cover depicts a pair of chicks drawing a cart with another chick driving, and a dogwood tree in bloom in the background. Embossed in silver is "Easter Greeting" and the logo of the Shoreham. Dinner sounds fabulous however baby chicks were not offered.

The club, which opened in 1936, certainly one of the first drag venues in the United States, was relegated to posterity in 1999.

Modest edge wear, light soiling, verso with remnants of glue (apparently once mounted) & a few scuffs, Very Good. Undoubtedly a stock image adapted to the needs of this enterprise, the pastoral vignette of grazing cows along a meandering stream, surrounded by a border of colorful flowers, seems incongruous with the nature of the business. Not found in OCLC although trade cards by EP Best are represented.
