Baltimore, Maryland: Published by the college, Volume 3, no. 2, June, 1867. Original broadsheet newspaper, single sheet measuring 24 inches by 37 inches folded once vertically forming 4 pages.
Old folds, lightly toned & foxed, moderately tattered (including creasing & closed tears), couple of small losses from ink burn briefly affecting text, brief math ciphering in pencil in the right margin of page 3, small rubber-stamped mark at the lower margin of the front page, otherwise very good.
The college was apparently one of 48 in the Bryant, Stratton & Co."International Chain of Business Colleges" designed to "place in the hands of aspiring young men the most ready and effectual means of attaining to positions of honor and emolument: in short, to impart in the most thorough manner, and in the shortest time possible, that kind and degree of training comprised in a business education."

"Thorn Hill School for Boys, also known as the Allegheny County Industrial and Training School for Boys, was a reform school in Marshall Township, Pa, which operated from 1909 until 1978 The school housed, trained, and educated boys ages 11 through 18 who were delinquent wards of Allegheny County The complex occupied 1500 acres of land and held 70 structures Total annual enrollment peaked near 500 in the early 1920s."Excerpted from the website of "Historic Pittsburgh"

Large folding map printed in black & red measuring approximately 23.5 inches by 33.25 inches (including margins) folding (as issued) into printed card covers measuring 8 inches by 4.5 inches. Covers with moderate edge wear & soiling, map lightly age toned, slightly foxed, with several small splits at fold intersects, otherwise Very Good. Quite uncommon, this map is not found in OCLC Worldcat as of 9/16/2021.

Wilmington, Delaware: Printed by the Star Publishing Company, (1947). First edition. Octavo (9.5" x 6.5"), x & 69 pages plus 6 illustrations on 4 plates. Publisher's blue cloth with an applied gilt label on the upper cover, in pictorial dust jacket.
Slight edge wear, sporadic foxing, previous owner's name & date in pencil at the half-title page, otherwise very good in soiled dust jacket with edge wear including nicks & a couple of short tears without loss, a good or better example.

Allentaun [Allentown], Pennsylvnia: Gedruckt bei Guth, Young und Trexler, 1851. First separate printing. 24mo, 45 pp. Contemporary cloth with modern cloth wrapping the spine.
Rebacked (rather crudely), cloth rubbed through in a couple of places, endpapers & blanks browned, sporadic foxing, previous owner's name in ink at front pastedown, otherwise good or better. As noted in Horst Weigelt's Migration and Faith: The Migrations of the Schwenkfelders from Germany to America, regarding this edition: "In 1851 it was published for the first time as a self-contained print in a revision by Josua Schultz of the 1782 version." Quite uncommon, OCLC finds 11 copies under 3 accession numbers

[Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: published by Hotel Harrisburger, no date, circa 1938]. First Edition. Oblong 16mo (3.75" x 6"), 12 unnumbered pages plus covers, illustrated throughout mostly from photographs, with accompanying descriptive text. Original pictorial paper warps, stapled.
Wrinkled, minor edge wear, lightly soiled, staples rusted, otherwise Very Good.
A wonderful promotional pamphlet for the Hotel Harrisburger which was built by Ray S. Shoemaker in about 1930. Mr. Shoemaker also owned Goose Valley Farm which supplied much of the produce & dairy products for the hotel: "The rich Grade A Golden Guernsey Milk and Cream, along with the delicious vegetables served in the Harrisburger dining rooms, have brought such favorable comment that we would like to take you "behind the scenes" to the Harrisburger's 300 acre Goose Valley Farms."
Writing about the hotel on the last page of text, manager James A. Johnston writes:

Rear cover lightly spotted, lower corners bruised, occasional pencilled check marks, otherwise very good.
Chronicles the lineage of John Peter Strayer who emigrated to the Colony of Pennsylvania in 1751 & fathered 18 children with two wives Allied families include Winand, Stough, Miller, Frey, & Altland.

A great I.O.O.F. memento in unusually nice condition:

Founded in Philadelphia in 1847, the Patriotic Order Sons of America was originally an anti-Catholic, anti-immigration Know-Nothing society. Although their principles evolved over the years, as of 1918 they were still quite anti-immigrant. Membership was restricted to "native born citizens who believe in their country and its institutions, and who desire to perpetuate free government, and who wish to encourage a brotherly feeling among Americans to the end that we may exalt our country, to join with us in our work of fellowship and love."

Sextodecimo (6.75" x 4.25"), 44 pages plus 16 unnumbered pages of advertisements, providing an exhaustive index, with two folding maps printed recto & verso on one sheet measuring 21.25" x 27.75" (sheet size) attached to the rear cover & folding into printed stiff paper wraps. Covers soiled, with modest edge wear, map with small splits at fold intersects & a couple of short tears in the margins, otherwise Very Good. Features the "Rand McNally New Commercial Atlas Map of Maryland and Delaware" in printed color on the recto, with "Maryland and Delaware Automobile Road Map" in black & white on the verso.

Quite prolific, Pratt authored about 40 publications, many under the pseudonym, Courtney Melmoth. He is most widely known for the novel Emma Corbett: or the Miseries of Civil War, (1780) & Sympathy, a poem published in 1788.
