Description:
London: [Lloyd's Register of Shipping], 1927. 923 pages, including 38 full-page color plates of flags, plus [2], 17 pages of ads for nautical equipment and services. Original green cloth stamped in gold with pictorial emblem on front cover; all edges gilt. Oblong: 19 x 24 cm. This is copy no. 1559, so stamped in gilt on the front cover. Very good. Head of spine a little worn, tiny tear to base of the spine. Slightly over-opened in the prelims, but sound with hinges intact. Half-title and final text leaf foxed, a few minor traces of soiling, else a nice copy. FIRST EDITION.

Boston: L.C. Page & Co., 1902. 351 pages, plus frontispiece by W.H. Dunton, and 5, 14 pages publisher's ads at rear. Original light green cloth stamped in gold, dark green, and white. [19.4 pages.] Very good. Two small marks near base of spine, some soil and light wear to edges of boards, light rubbing to spine ends and hinges. A few minor traces of soil to edges. Still a bright, solid copy with clean interior. FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. Preceded by the English edition with the title beginning, "The Ship's Adventure" (1901).
