This is an ex-library copy from the library of a major museum. It is not a reprint but the first edition. Volume has the usual library markings but I wonder how often it was consulted as it is in such nice shape. The blue linen cloth binding with the gilt lettering on the spine is very attractive, printed in Great Britain. There is a handwritten note in pencil noting that the book was given to the museum in 1931by James Lamb, 1867-1933. With detractions noted, book is in good to very good, tight condition. $20.00

Good, clean tight copy but the gilt lettering on the spine and part of the gilt illustration on front cover panel have worn off. There is also some bubbling to the bottom of the back cover (really can't see I because of the black cloth but can feel it). The bubbling extends into the back endpapers, and the index, assume it was caused by water damage at one point. Overall, a good copy of a very uncommon book. $37.50
Note: Cnidus was a Greek city in ancient Caria and part of the Dorian Hexapolis, in south-western Asia Minor, modern-day Turkey.
