John Amos Comenius (28 March 1592 – 15 November 1670)[2] was a Czech philosopher, pedagogue and theologian who is considered the father of modern education. He served as the last bishop of the Unity of the Brethren before becoming a religious refugee and one of the earliest champions of universal education, a concept eventually set forth in his book Didactica Magna. As an educator and theologian, he led schools and advised governments across Protestant Europe through the middle of the seventeenth century.

Thomas Müntzer (c. 1489 – 27 May 1525) was a German preacher and theologian of the early Reformation whose opposition to both Martin Luther and the Roman Catholic Church led to his open defiance of late-feudal authority in central Germany. Müntzer was foremost amongst those reformers who took issue with Luther's compromises with feudal authority. Old and New Testaments plus appendix "Anhang", last 82 pages. Book is in good condition, black cover and gilt lettering. Name of owner on title page. Paper is printed on the very thin paper that is often used to keep a large work from becoming a multi-volume and cumbersome work. Thus, some pages have wrinkling and folding. Everyone is aware of the dependence of the Protestant churches on the various "solas", Sola Scriptura, Sola Fidei, etc. Martin Luther added a sola, or "only", "allein", in German, in Romans 3:28. He never denied that he did but said it was implied. The "allein" is printed in this edition of Luther's translation. $10.00
