Presentation inscription on ffep signed and dated by Jeffrey in 1973. Near fine copy, but we note the minor distraction of browning along the gutter of the free endpapers and facing pps as two leaves on both ends were apparently glued along the gutter. This will not be a problem for most collectors, and perhaps the publisher did this with every copy. The vg dj has small chips along the top edge.

Elaborately decorated front cover has as centerpiece "Geronimo - War Chief of the Apaches". He is on horseback. 215pp. Bottom corner of rear blank page has label of Churchill Book & Print Shop (with L.A. address & phone). Preface by Thos. H. Rynning is an informational 2pp bio of Sparks, known as "Timberline Bill". Next 2pp prints a letter from Arizona Gov. Hunt, affirming Sparks research & his work as a peace officer & mentioning his own role in trying to catch the Apache Kid. Also printed are commendation letters by John H. Lacy, M.D. & Dr. J. A. Lord, dentist. A good copy or better (heck, I think it is a vg copy) with relatively minor edgewear. Laid in is a printed seal from the previous bookseller's plastic bag in which the book was stored, stating, "Audrey Meadows Estate Beverly Hills, CA". (Tombstone): Privately published, 1962. First Edition. Soft cover. Good. Apparently the first printing of this interesting booklet. Tall pictorial wraps. 17pp. "In compiling this list, each history has been checked with all available sources of information, including relatives, old residents and the Arizona Historical Society." Fascinating item and the causes of death are given in almost all cases from infants dying of Scarlet Fever to losers in shoot-outs, to falling into mine shafts and being killed by Indians. Just a bit of stain lower spine. A very good copy.
