Paris: Chez Guillaume-François de Bure le Jeune, 1763. presumed original calf binding, lower third of spine and label missing, hinges cracked but binding cords still holding all together, library stamps of Dublin religious institution library on title page and a couple of other early pages, discolouring from old damp affecting margins near lower spine, not into text, otherwise clean and sound, text block generally tight and sound, 603 pages. A pioneering work, first of several volumes, it was the first to identify and describe the Gutenberg Bible. Text is in French.. First Edition. Full-Leather. Unknown: Unknown This is an 18th century rebind of a possibly earlier edition of Cicero's orations. It lacks title page and half-title, perhaps a page or two of a preliminary address 'ad lectorem'. It begins with a brief life of Cicero - xxx (30) pages, followed by the orations (536pp) and the index, unpaginated but complete. The outer leaves show signs of damage, consistent with having been disbound for a considerable time. There are inkstains on some pages of the index. The book was rebound in the mid-18th century, and is signed Tho. Moore (the book came from the library of Richard Moore, an 18th Century Irish gentleman. Binding leather is much scuffed, but the binding and text block is surprisingly quite clean and sound, apart from the damage to the index. The entire text, including notes, is in Latin. . London: Valpy, 1820. two volumes bound in one, recent cloth, new endpapers, text block edges marbled, discreet (if smudged) ownership stamp on title page, of Dublin Jesuit residency; a few foxing spots in some outer leaves, but the text throughout is generally pristine, apparently rarely if ever consulted. Pagination: vi, 920. The book was part of a library set of Valpy's Delphin series, bound originally in calf. Over the decades, polluted city air caused the leather spines to decay, while leaving the books otherwise undamaged. Text and notes all in Latin.. First Thus. Hard Cover. London: Valpy, 1825. three volumes complete, recently rebound in green buckram, with new endpapers, paper labels on spine, folding map and all illustrations present, text blocks pristine. Text and notes entirely in Latin - notes and commentary take up half of volume 2, and all of volume 3. Scholarly work of the highest order. Amsterdam: Wetstenios & Smith, 1733. contemporary full calf binding somewhat scuffed but still sound, five raised bands on spine, spine label reads 'Pearce's Longinu', text block is clean, tight and sound throughout, frontispiece illustration of Longinus in a library holding forth, a couple of other vignettes on title page and dedication, Greek and Latin text on facing pages, with notes in Latin underneath, further notes and commentary following the main text.. Third Edition. Full-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Paris: Jacques Estienne, 1753. 1753 and 1754 (last few volumes), full calf bindings in traditional French style. Extra volume is due to vol. 11 being published as part 1 and part 2. Bindings are sound and tight, no weak hinges or such, Slight damage to top of spines in volumes 1 and 6. There is scuffing damage to the leather on some boards. This is due to the library having been unused for about two centuries, and many of the volumes were adhering to their neighbours, with some fraying when they were separated.Signature on all volumes of Richard Moore (Ricardi Moore), 18th century Irish gentleman and collector.
