Volume 74, No. 9: A pair of articles on Picasso, the first featuring photos taken by Jean Costeau of Picasso and friends at lunch in Montparnasse in 1916, the second a review of a traveling exhibition of previously unexhibited Picasso sketchbooks providing a detailed look at the artist at work. Also, an essay by Susan Sontag on the photo collaborations of Vera Lehndorff and Holger Trulzsch; and a report on the flowering of new art centers and collections outside Paris, as well as regular departments including Letters, Review of Books, Review of Exhibitions and a Report from Seattle. About 8 1/2 x 11 inches, 176 pages in glossy, light-card wrappers with front cover showing Daniel Buren's installation, "Du Volume de la Couleur," 1986. Back cover an ad for a BlumHelman gallery exhibit of recent sculpture. A tiny crease in lower right corner of front cover and other minor surface and edgewear, o/w wrappers have no tears, chipping, address labels. Text is clean, complete and unmarked, with no noticeable flaws or damage. A collectable copy.
