Description:
New York: Simon & Schuster Books for Young People, 1999. 1st Edition 3rd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/As New. Johathan Linton. CONDITION: Very Good+ pre-read 1999 Simon & Schuster for Young Readers hardcover (pictorial boards) & DJ , first edition, 3rd printing. Rough shipping from mfg. it seems: bumped corners with 2 tiny impressions front & back covers. Not bad, but there. Tiny edge wear to DJ top edge. Much better than it sounds. Very clean & very tight. Wonderful soft & warm color illustrations by Jonathan Linton. CONTENT: A father loves watching his daughter dance--from her first recital where she was dressed as an ear of corn to the final dance she does just for him as he nears the end of his life. While the text is easy-to-read for early readers, the concept of the book may need some explanation. A read-aloud for a first reading would be appropriate, IMHO. Ages 4 - 8. Adults will also appreciate - especially fathers.

CONDITION: NEW 1985-88 Dragonfly Books paperback, first edition, 45th printing. Wonderful and sweet color illustrations by the Author. Every day, she and her owner explore and play together. And every night, her owner tells her "I'll always love you." Elfie and owner grow up togther, but growing up can mean having to say goodbye to the ones you love. Peachtree, 1996. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. New/New. Debrah Santini. CONDITION: NEW 1996 Peachtree hardcover (pictorial boards) & DJ (in mylar jacket), stated first edition, first printing. Decorated end pages. A sweet love story that spans decades. The color illustrations by Debrah Santini perfectly fit the story. While this is a children's book, older adults will perhaps find it fitting to their own lives. Simply lovely. CONTENT: Despite the precious life lessons knit into the story line ("Every human being has a right to three things: to dance... to sing... to tell stories"), Deedy's fluid prose and flair for imagery turns a potentially trite story into a sweet, sentimental one. Childhood sweethearts Ninny and Bessie make a pact that when one of them dies, the other will come to the graveyard and dance on the grave. The story spans a lifetime, from the young couple's early moonlight dances at Ninny's grandfather's grave through marriage, a war and a last anniversary. In the end, Bessie…

Description:
Centering Corporation, 2001. Revised Ediiton Printing Unknown. Soft cover. New/No Jacket Issued. Kristi McClendon color illustrations. CONDITION: UNREAD (clean & tight) 2001 Centering Corporation paperback (stapled wraps), revised edition. Color illustrations are by Kristi McClendon. CONTENT: This is a gentle, but informative, book for young children dealing with loss of a loved one - the entire sequence of the actual death to the funeral and burial or cremation. I don't see this book as religious nor do I see it as anti-religious, but as the compassionate science of death with a lesson on observing the feelings and beliefs of those who are grieving also. I found it moving, accurate, and comforting in catering to the questions and feelings of a child. Perhaps you will also.
