First edition thus; a reprinting - "Privately printed for Ernest R. Gee" - of the original London edition of 1848. Gee was a colleague of Eugene Connett, of Derrydale Press fame, and the two men influenced one another. Frazier M-6-a states, "...the book and its design, paper, binding, and style, are so obviously Derrydale in spirit and influence, that one has only to put it side by side with Connett's... to see how this book and the books of the Press came together." A near fine copy, untrimmed and unopened. Bound in white cloth over green boards with paper cover label. some light spotting and soil.
