Tan boards with blue writing on spine and front board; top and bottom of book spine rumpled. Former owner's name written on first interior page; front dust jacket has very small indentations on top edge and small chip on bottom edge. Front dust jacket also has holly image and "For Your Holiday Reading"; back of dust jacket contains thirteen reviews from different newspapers. Bottom of back dust jacket has small tears and folds; dust jacket spine very faded and shelf wear on top and bottom. Cover price of $1.25 on front inside dust jacket flap; book has overall tight binding and pages still look in excellent condition.
Little, Brown First Edition, Eleventh Printing as indicated by various reprints, all in 1934, listed on copyright page. Copy is in excellent shape for being over 80 years old.Hilton's classic novella about the life of a schoolteacher. Hardcover and original unclipped dust jacket protected by archival Mylar cover.
