The black covers are worn and have large creases and up to 2-inch tears a the edges, but nothing is missing. Name in pencil on first page. Pages clean and unmarked. There is a one-inch wide slit through the back cover that penetrates the last few pages, but without loss or serious damage; text all readable. Reprint of all issues of the Valley News Echo, which in turn reprinted contemporary accounts of the Civil War from various Potomac Valley newspapers. It was published in newspaper format from October 1959 - April 1965, in honor of the Civil War Centennial. Approximately 200 pages. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
