Signed and inscribed by the author on the title page, "Andrea Alban - For Ginny - Follow the man!" along with a heart symbol. This would be a very good copy other than a hard bump to the bottom front corner that has left a small bit of the board exposed. Otherwise, minor shelf-wear at the edges and spine ends. A clean, tight copy. Unclipped dustjacket is very good with matching minor shelf-wear, bright and attractive. 188 pp., a historical novel of WWII era China , based on the author's own true story.

Barbara." A good plus copy with wear to the board edges and bending at the corners and spine tips. All wear is external. Interior is clean and unmarked, binding and hinges solid. Unclipped jacket is very good with ruffling to the panel edges and a bit of discoloration at the heel of the spine. 367 pp., a mystery novel set in historical Lorraine, France.

New York: Doubleday, 1994. First printing. Hardback. Good/fair. Signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title page, "To Dan - Best Wishes, John Grisham." Bookmark laid in at front advertising the book-signing in Oxford, Mississippi, where Grisham resided at the time o publication. Gray boards with maroon cloth back-strip and gilt titles, 1st printing in dustjacket. A good copy but with wear to the board edges, minor corner bumps, and some discoloration to the red cloth on the rear. Binding is solid and the pages are clean and unmarked. Slight ridge to the spine column from reading, and soil and speckling to the bottom edge of the textblock. Unclipped dustjacket is only fair due to a large tear and crinkling to the rear flap, short chips at the spine tips, and overal a bit of scuffing to the panels. 486 pp., the basis for the popular film of the same name.

Some bumpint to upper corners and shelfwear to the bottom edge. Binding solid and text clean. Unclipped jacket with matching wear at the upper corners and rubbing at the folds. 574 pp.

Signed without inscription by Rick Bass on the title page, with an "Autographed Copy" sticker to the upper front panel of the dustjacket. General minor wear at the edges of book and jacket, otherwise a clean, tight unmarked copy of this novel. 208 pp., the story of the Mier Expedition and its tragic outcomes.

Prague: Czech-Moravian Printing and Publishing Company / Ceskomoravske Podniky Tiskarske a Vydavatelske, 1930. Fourth edition. Hardcover. Good. Blue cloth hardcover in Czech (no English) with gilt titles and thick stitched flowers along the bottom front third of the cover - beautiful in multiple colors, though now worn and darkened with age. The gilt titles are worn in spots and faded as well. I am uncertain if this is a hand re-binding, although it seems to be of the period so may have been a special edition. A good copy, but aged and showing some soiling and wear to the cover edges and corners. Interior is clean and unmarked, but with endpapers fading at the edges, and pages age-toned. The stitched binding is solid, but lacking tightness and the rear hinge is beginning to strain at the stitches. A handful of dog-eared pages. 407 pp. Baar's hard to find semi-autobiographical novel in it's fourth edition, beautifully ornamented on the cover.

California: Published by the author, 1991. First edition. Hardcover. Good. Pictoral hardcover - lacking dustjacket. Wear to the spine ends and several scuffs to the front cover and spine covering. Interior clean and unmarked. Foxing to the rear endpapers and the text block edges, text unaffected. 478 pp., the author's first, self-published novel of a woman falsely accused in Victorian England - based on a real case.

Lorraine Johnson." Stated First Edition Revised. Book is like new with little to no wear and a tight, unread binding. Unclipped jacket with a sticker removal scar to the rear panel barcode area - clean and bright. 241 pp., a collection of stories on black history in the U.S.

California: Published by the author, 1987. First edition thus. Paperback. Good. Signed and inscribed by the author on the title page, "For Molly and Bob, with love Jeannette." This is a highly personalized copy, with a typed and signed note laid in, along with a pioneer illustration postcard. A photo of the author and her husband is glued to the first blank the inscription on the photo is not quite legible through the page. On the inside of the rear cover is written the address of Dry Creek Books in Modesto who distributed Maino's books. Trade paperback in good condition, with fading to the blue covers and some bending at the corners. The binding is strong and the pages are clean. 213 numbered pages plus significant back-matter including a bibliography, and notes from the author. A novel of the Donner Party.

"Autographed Copy" sticker to the bottom of the front panel of the dustjacket. A good copy with bumping and wear and the spine ends and corners. Penciled X's to the top and bottom edge of the text block and a small spot to the bottom edge. Inside a clean solid copy. Unclipped jacket with chips and short tears at the top corners and folds, clean and attractive jacket. The author's debut novel, well received and nicely signed. 322 pp.

San Francisco: MacAdam Cage, 2006. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/good +. Very good hardcover in good+ dustjacket. Signed without inscription by the author on the title page. Minor wear and bending at the corners and spine ends. All text clean and unmarked, binding and hinges solid. Unclipped jacket would be very good except for a dime-sized white spot to the top left corner of the front panel (visible in the photos). It seems to be white paint or white-out and I have not attempted to remove it for fear of damaging the jacket further. Minor wear to jacket edges and a bit of scuffing at the rear panel. 707 pp., an epic speculative novel about Mary Todd Lincoln.

Dustjacket is also very good with a bit of a crease from the front flap being misfolded - bright and attractive. 314 pp., an entry in the Bernard Martin series.

Orlando: Harcourt, Inc., 2003. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. Signed by the author without inscription on a Chinaberry bookplate affixed to the front free-endpaper. Tan and green paper over boards - hardcover 1st printing in dustjacket. A very good copy with a pencilled X to the bottom of the text block edge, and bending/wear at the extremeties of the spine being the only notable flaws. A clean, straight, and solid copy. The unclipped jacket is also very good with minor matching wear at the spine panel edges. 389 pp., brief bibliography at rear. From the abstract, "In 1906, sixteen-year-old Mattie, determined to attend college and be a writer against the wishes of her father and fiance, takes a job at a summer inn where she discovers the truth about the death of a guest."

Trade paperback with pictoral covers, second edition. Advertising bookmark for the title laid in at front. A good copy, it has been read and has minor wear to the cover edges, some bending to the corners, and a bit of a lift to the front cover. Previous bookstore price erasure to the top of the title page. The binding is solid and other than the signature, the text is clean and unmarked. 249 pp., with 25 black and white historical photos, a historical novel based on fact.

Portland: Metropolitan Press, Publishers, 1933. Hardcover. Good. Brown cloth hardcover with dark brown titles. No indication of printing, but 1933 date consistent on title page and copyright page. A good+ copy, clean and solid, but with bending at the corners and spine tips and a bookplate (without owner name) neatly to the front pastedown. Binding is strong, but lacking tightness. 104 pp., notes and bibliography at rear. Short stories written about the Oregon Coastal natives, based on histories and ethnographies, according to the introduction.

Nebraska: American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, 1983. Sixth Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/good. White cloth hardcover, 6th printing, in dustjacket. The book is in very good condition. Light bumping to the upper corners and mild wear to the bottom edge. Previous owner's gift inscription across the front free-endpaper, otherwise a clean and unmarked copy. Binding and hinges are tight as if unread. The dustjacket is not nearly so good with 2 stains to the lower panels spineward and general edge and corner wear including short tears at the folds - some darkening and soil to the light colored panels. 288 pp., a novel of German-Russian history, immigration, and love.

Signed and inscribed by Dodson on the half-title page, "For Norma & Donald Yeomans with best wishes from your Uncle Royce's next door neighbor, Kenneth Dodson." Above the author's inscription is a gift inscription from Royce to the couple mentioned. A fair to good copy with staining from moisture to the lower quarter of the front board (no impact on the pages or text) and bending at the spine tips. Corners bumped. Previous owner's stamp to the front pastedown and some darkening to the rear endpapers. Text is clean and unmarked in a solid binding. The dustjacket also has dampstaining to the lower portions of the panels and chipping and short tears to the upper edges - now protected in mylar. $3.95 price point intact on the front flap and a charming picture of the author on the rear panel. 324 pp., the author's follow up to his hugely successful "Away All… Read More

Front endpaper removed, and soiling to the rear endpaper, otherwise a very good copy. Dustjacket with heavy wear at the top edges, chips and short tears, and soiling to the white panels. 467 pp., a fictional tale of 1868 Kansas and the railway cowtowns of the midwest. Some black and white illustrations by Blehm.

Seattle: Fantagraphics Books, 2009. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/very good. Signed without inscription by author Monte Schulz (son of cartoonist Charles Schulz) on the title page in the month of publication. Black hardcover with silver titles in dustjacket - a first edition. Book is in near fine condition, clean, tight, and square - unmarked other than the author's signature and apparently unread. The dustjacket is very good but with a couple of short chips/tears - at the folds and corners, and minor scuffing to the dark panels. 318 pp., a story of life and con men in the years before the great depression.
