External description: corners and spine tips rounded and bumped with minor fraying at the extremities of the corners. Some bumping as well to the board edges where they extend beyond the textblock. Rubbed, lightened spot to the center of the spine column, and darkening ot the top of the boards and the top edge of the textblock. Interior description: Front pastedown with two erasure spots - brown papers lightened and scuffed from the erasure. Front hinge is split with paper exposing the binding web - still relatively solid. The rear hinge is starting but not as advanced as the front. Darkening to the edges of the back of the free endpapers from the dark brown endpaper coloring coming through. According to a well researched web history of the brigade at Weebly, "Upon returning to the UK many of the surviving members of the Battalion embarked ona speaking tour to raise awareness and funds for the Spanish people. It lasted 32 days from 9/1/1939 until 8/2/1939, and took in the length and breadth of the UK." The signatures here represent folks who participated in that tour. Left page: Nurses Mary E. Heavy wear to the corners, both covers and pages. Staples are still firmly bound even though the cloth covering them is giving up. 92 full color pages of Gardiner's beautiful illustrations documenting the castles, manors and landscapes of Dorset and Purbeck. A rough copy, but with no diminishment to the beauty and vibrancy of the illustrations.

Scuffing to the covers. The interior is clean, unmarked, and solidly bound. 176 pp., mostly photographs, brief bibliography at rear. This volume has sections on Hull's shopping, motor transport, and pubs. A beautiful collection, scarce.

Tight as if unread. 324 pp., some black and white photos. The story of a young British woman and the American airman she married in World War II.

A good only copy with light soiling to the rear cover, bumped corners and crimped spine ends. Crinkling to the bottom of the front free endpaper, otherwise the interior is much better than the exterior - clean and solid with hinges intact. 212 pp., indexed, full page black and white plates sprinkled throughout the text, and one dual page hand-drawn map by the author. A nice history of the Glamorgan Valleys - a volume in the extensive Regional Book Series.

Solid, uncreased binding and clean, unmarked pages. 94 pp., a collection of the photos George Garland from the 1920's around his home in Petworth, Sussex. Filled with b/w reproductions.

Minor shelfwear to the edges and a scuff to the upper rear cover, otherwise a clean, tight unmarked copy. Dustjacket with light ruffling at the top edge and a bit of speckling to the top corner of the front panel - bright and attractive. 199pp., black and white photos throughout. Indexed and containing a Money family tree diagram. A fascinating look at the Money families adventures in the rubber industry during the hay-day of the British Empire.

Wear and rubbing to the cover edges and a 1 inch tear to the front edge of the rear cover. The rear index pages are intact, but bent (most likely from the book being dropped at some point). The interior is much better, clean and unmarked in a solid binding. 648 pp., with an index of names and an index of denominations. From the introduction, "An individual or family may be traced to a particular parish, but their names do not appear in the records of the Established Church. Rather, they can only be found in the records of one of the nonconformist chapels in the area." A useful genealogical guide for Welsh family research.

A good copy with some scuffing to the covers, but mostly clean and solid in a stapled binding. Black and white photos throughout. 36 pages and a short bibliography at back.

Canada: 97X Squadron Royal Air Force, 1944. First edition. Paperback. Fair. Woolley, P.W.. Blue stapled pamphlet, 35 pages, a souvenir from the 97th air navigation training on Prince Edward Island. The condition is a bit rough with corners bent and curling, some pencil marks to the front cover and a note one page indicating the previous owner's relation to one of the airmen. Soil and a pencilled notation to the tan rear cover. This book seems to have been written and produced by the members of Squadron 97X during the time of their stay on PEI for training. Flight Lieutenant E.F. Dobie and Flying Officer W.J. Birrell are listed as "Men Responsible" so they may have taken and editing hand to this pamphlet. Full page bio and pictures of 21 airmen along with a cartoon, soccer match photo and description of a concert. All plates are intact and the binding is solid. Hinges are starting with torn paper, but no lack of grip. 312 pp., indexed. A beautiful copy of this volume.
