Signed and inscribed by co-author and American hero Alek Skarlatos on the page facing the half-title, "To Carolyn - It was great to meet you, thanks for the support!" Black hardcover 1st edition with silver spine titles in dustjacket. A good+ copy but with a hard bump to the head of the spine, and a smaller bump to the bottom edge of the front board. A clean tight copy, unmarked other than the author's inscription. Unclipped dustjacket is very good - bright and attractive with minimal wear to the panel edges. 245 pp., the story of a terrorist attack averted by three alert and heroic American travelers. Alek Skarlatos, who signed this copy, has run for Oregon 4th Congressional District - US House of Representatives in two elections.

Oregon: University of Oregon Books, 1959. Hardcover. Good +/good. Red cloth hardcover with gilt spine lettering, in dustjacket. A good copy - clean and tight, but with minor bending at the upper corners and spine tips. Unclipped jacket is not as good with scuffing to the panels visible as white against the dark green paper, some chips and bending at the panel edges, and an indiction that the book was stored next to some spiral bound materials that have dug into the dustjacket at the joints leaving small punctures to the paper which have minimally ground through to the book joints . 226 pp., indexed, with one fold-out map toward the front of the book. Volume two in the Univeristy of Oregon Monographs series, Studies in History.

New York: M. Evans & Company, Inc., 1990. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/good +. Signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title page, "To Harry Klug - Best Wishes - Tom Rumer Aug. 25,'90." Some illegible writing between the signature and the date. Red and blue hardcover, 1st edition in dustjacket. A very good copy with minor edge-wear and a bit of bending at the head of the spine column. Binding and hinges are solid, and the text is unmarked other than the author's inscription. Unclipped dustjacket is good but with a crinkly bend to the head of the spine panel that doesn't seem to want to flatten out - still bright and attractive. A thick volume at 610 pp., indexed, many black and white photos. A detailed history of the American Legion and the programs they created to assist United States Military Veterans.

Stated first printing of the reprinted edition (unchanged from the 1891 edition) = first thus. A good copy with bending at the lower front corner and upper spine tip. Minor soiling to the dark boards. Interior is clean and unmarked in a solid binding. 157 pp., with 36 pages of aftermatter. Indexed, some few black and white examples at rear. Specific history of Fitzwilliam Museum holdings of engraved gems.

Los Angeles: DeVorss & Co., 1939. Limited ed. Hardcover. Fair. Hardcover lacking dustjacket, one of a series of limited editions published in 1939, this being an edition of 1500, of which this is number 475, numbered, but not signed. A fair to good copy with heavy wear at the cover edges and some fraying to the cloth at the corners and spine tips. Both hinges starting, but binding itself feels solid. Some pages with red pencil underlining and notations - not extensive thankfully. 336 pp., indexed, extensively illustrated including some black and white/ tri-color plates. Stacy-Judd flourished as an architect in southern California, embracing South American and specifically Mayan styles. Corner are straight, but the spine tips are crimping. Binding and hinges are solid and the pages are unmarked. The jacket is bright and attractive but with chips at the corners and a longer jagged tear at the head of the spine panel - interior of the jacket is also browned and aged. 256 pp., indexed, full of photos and illustrations. A history of the development and settlement of the Murray River Valley in Australia. Will require additional shipping for international or expedited orders.

New York: Random House, 2012. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. Signed by Pulitzer Prize winner Katherine Boo on the title page using her stamp as always due to a painful auto-immune disorder that impacts her hands. A true 1st printing in dustjacket, lacking the national book award badge. A very good copy with crinkling and bending at the spine tips being the only damage - the head of the spine is particular bent into the rear joint. Clean, unmarked pages in a solid binding as if unread. Corners straight. Jacket is bright and attractive with the $27 price intact, and matching wear to the spine tips, including a short tear to the top of the rear panel from the spine crimping. Powell's Books sticker to the rear panel indicating that this came from a public speaking event in February of 2012 - left intact for provenance. 256 pp., Boo's first book.

An unusual spiral bound genealogy reference book designed in question and answer format, with potential research organization questions at the front and answers at the rear. A very good copy of this title with plastic spiral binding intact and pages all securely bound in. Clean and unmarked with some small edgewear and light soiling to the covers. 80 pp.

Illinois: McLean County Historical Society, 1988. Second edition. Paperback. Good. Trade paperback, 2nd edition. A good only copy with edge-wear and bending to the corners. Light soil and speckling to the covers. Interior is better, solid and well bound. Small coffee stain to the top of the first 2 sheets. Errata laid in at front. 161 pp., black and white photos throughout of the workers, the trains and the shops. A history of the Chicago and Alton Railroad Company as told by it's employees over many decades.

Algeria: Historical Museum of Algeria (Algiers Casbah), 1944. Paperback. Fair. Tan museum guide pamphlet in fair only condition. The binding/spine column has been reinforced with clear tape and there are chips and short tears at the page edges. Age toned, but intact, this copy has unmarked pages, but soil to the last page of the text. Some black and white photos, 38 pp. The Casbah (or citadel) of Algiers is infamous and this is a great ephemeral piece of it's history.

California: Landmark Enterprises, 1977. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/good. Signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title page, "March 22, 1979 To Bill and Charlene Ebert with best wishes - Buddy Uzes." Front flap of the dustjacket confirms that the author was known as "Bud." Heavy green cloth binding with gilt spine titles, in dustjacket. The book is in very good conditoin - clean, straight, and tight as if unread. A minor lift to the front cover is the only noted flaw. The dustjacket is only good with chips and short tears at the panel edges and some scuffing to the white rear panel. 315 pp., indexed, some black and white photos and illustrations.

South Carolina: CokerCraft Press, 1987. Hardcover. Very Good/fair. Signed and inscribed by the author on the title page, "January 1988 To George Duggan with best wishes, P.C. Coker III." A very good copy, with no indication of edition. Clean blue cloth with silver titles and illustrations. Minor dust and speckling to the text block edges and a hard bump at the top center of the rear board edge. Corners and spine ends straight. Solid binding and interior is clean an unmarked other than the author's inscription. The dustjacket is much worse - fair at best with a 4 inch tear up fold between the spine and the front panel and damp staining to the inside bottom of the rear panel - not reflected on the book. Chips, tears and scuffing - an unfortunate jacket for a very nice book. 314 pp., indexed, illustrations in color and black and white throughout. A beautiful book once you take the jacket off.

Texas: First edition, 1972. Paperback. Good. Orange paperback, presumed reprint as he seems to have original written this in the 60s. Signed and inscribed by Chicano author and poet Nephtali De Leon on the title page, "Para Salvador Ramirez, quien me enseno a comprendar el carino de nuestro pueblo." Which translates roughly to "for Salvador Ramirez, who taught me to understand the love of our people." A good only copy with heavy wear at the cover edges - scuffing to the covers and a crease to the rear cover. Inside the front cover there is some browning - appears to be from old glue - but not library indications. Mr. Ramirez has used his personal name stamp on the title page and on the last page. Pages are unmarked otherwise and the binding is intact and not split. 95 pp., with illustrations by the author.

New York: Thomas Y. Crowell Company, 1946. Later printing. Hardcover. Fair. Bob Kuhn. Signed on the front free endpaper, "Sincerely, Mary Jane Carr" above a large bookblate from the previous owner. Large gift inscription on the front pastedown. Blue hardcover, lacking dustjacket, 18th printing in fair condition - heavily worn. Covers split through to the boards at the corners and joints with soil from handling and some staining. A hard bump to the top of the front board. Interior is much better - binding and hinges are solid, and no additional markings other than the mentioned signature and inscriptions at the front. The half-title page is creased but intact. 318 pp. black and white illustrations by Kuhn. This children's novel was the basis for Disney's live-action film "Westward Ho The Wagons."

A very good copy with minor bumping at the upper corners. Text is clean and binding solid. Pocket on rear pastedown contains small card-sized prints of some of the documents and maps.

A very good copy with light wear at the corners of the boards, the top edge of the textblock is dyed black. Clean interior with a solid binding and hinges. Opens widely at the photo insert at center, but solidly bound. The dustjacket is not as good - corners clipped, short tears and chipping to the panel edges and a great deal of scuffing to the shiny photo photo panels. 279 pp., indexed, black and white photos sections. A good copy but with bending to the upper corners, and some scuffing to the covers. A clean, tight copy. 141 pp., indexed, full color photos and drawings throughout. The story of the excavation to preserve as many fossils as possible in Colorado prior to a reservoir construction project.

A good only copy with bend and tearing at the spine tips and corners, and a few peaks in the binding that open a bit farther than they should. Scuffing at the covers. Appears to be free from writing or marks. 238 pp., black and white photos throughout, full of short contributed stories152 pages of text, stories and photos, with an additional 80 pages of sponsor advertisements featuring local and historical photos, high school yearbook style (even printed by Jostens). Includes a brief forward by local hero James Michener. A reader's copy.

Oblong quarto soft-cover in good+ condition. All wear is external with scuffing and a few spots of light soil to the covers and shallow bend spineward at the bottom of the front cover. Interior is clean other than aforementions, and the binding is solid as if unread. 252 pp., indexed, filled with black and white photos. A robust local history of this storied Mendocino township.
