Four cardboard portfolios, some inner paper wraps present, folio. Beautiful engravings, photogravures and lithographs of William Vanderbilt's New York home and collection of artwork.
Fair: covers dinged and inner wraps crumbling, about one-third of the plates present (47 plus 8 color) plus tissue titles, volume 1 pp present (viii, 50), volume 2 approx. 48 pp missing ([3]-20 present). Does not match Hitchcock's two volumes (entry 1164); compared to MMA 4-vol set, about one-third of the plates are present.

Ex-Library, no dust jacket, text is in English. Covers are worn and rubbed, including stains and scuffing. Outer spine is completely missing.
Corners are bumped and worn. Binding is weak and torn in places, hinge of binding is cracked.
Library stamps throughout the book, including on plates. Some Pages may have tears and/or folds.
Wear commensurate to age, perhaps including dings, nicks, stray marks/writing, rubbing waxing, foxing, fraying, stains, old book smell, etc.
