Gray paper covered boards with title and pasted down photograph on the front cover. Blue cloth spine. Covers are loose but attached. Soling t the covers. Light edge wear to the boards. Damp-stains lower edges of the first few pages. A fair plus condition book. Contents predate America's official involvement in the War.

N.D.Soft cover, pp. 80, 46 B&W Illustrations – half tone photographs and etchings, maps. Percy Lindley was active from the late 1870s until the 1920s, writing guides for the Great Eastern Railway, W. H. Smith, and publishing on his own account. In the case of "The World War Battlefields…" he not only wrote the copy but acted as editor, choosing and sourcing the illustrations. Incidentally, this is quite an early use of the term "World War" instead of "Great War".The quantity of Traffic to the Continent was slow to revive after the Great War. The Great Eastern fleet of steamers had been severely depleted by requisition and by enemy action.
