This is a first edition of The Collected Rudyard Kipling, Illustrated, published by Avenel in 1982. It is 1000 pages, and includes his best-known works: Captains Courageous, Kim, The Jungle Books, Just So Stories for Little Children, Puck of Pook's Hill, Stalky & Co., and Plain Tales from the Hills. It then adds 11 short stories. See photo of that list.It doesn't say who the illustrators are but Kipling did a lot of his own illustrations, so I assume that some of the images are his. There are some photos too.This book does not appear to have been read.The paper has darkened at the edges. This is a stated thirteenth printing of the first edition of Dr. Dolittle's Garden, the 8th book of the the classic children's series written and illustrated by the English writer Hugh Lofting (1886-1947). It is about a physician who communicates with animals.
This copy was printed in the US.While there is some shelfwear to the dust jacket, there is no evidence that anyone read the book. It is in mint condition.

This is a reproduction of The Eagle and the Frog, one of five Haida Myths images created by the legendary Canadian/Haida artist Bill Reid (1920-1998). The five images were for the book Raven Steals the Light, co-written by Reid and published by Douglas & McIntyre in 1982."The prince and three companions went on a fishing trip and caught some trout. This is a first edition of Every Living Thing, by the Scottish veterinarian James Herriot (1916-1995). Herriot famously chronicled his life as a veterinary surgeon in the Yorkshire Dales and his books became the movie and two tv series All Creatures Great and Small. There were eight books in the series; this is the last, published in 1992.It was simultaneously published in the UK, the US, and Canada. This edition was issued by Canada's McClelland and Stewart.This copy is in superb condition. 342 clean, creamy white pages. It does not appear to have been read and would be in mint condition, except that there are what look like thumbprints on pages 165-169. Other than that, it is perfect.

It's fun and informative--it was a massive best-seller.This copy's original owner put a bookplate in it. There is a light mark on the inside of the dust jacket, and that has transferred, very faintly, to the spine of the book. But the book does not appear to have been read and, on the inside, is in perfect condition.

This is Inuit Woman With Dog, by the Canadian sculptor Eugenia Berlin (1905-2003). Signed by the artist.4" x 5 1/4", weight 2 1/2 lbsCast 1926-1930.Bought from the artist by my former neighbour, who was a friend of Berlin's. When she died, in 1979, her son sold it to my mother. Until today, it lived on a shelf in the library.I've only been able to find one other, at an art gallery. Photo #4 is from that gallery, the rest are mine.It is in pristine condition. This is a pristine copy of The Jungle Books, Volume II, the classic stories of animals in India written in 1894 by Rudyard Kipling.
This is the 1948 edition published by Doubleday and illustrated by Aldren Watson. This is a beautiful copy.
It is 7 stories, plus poems, with 6 color illustrations and several black and white illustrations.
201 pages, all clean and clear. The binding is perfect and it has been wrapped in mylar.
It has two flaws. The bottom corner of page 137 was accidentally folded in a little. The other is a printing error--a tiny ink blur on the corner of the cover (see photo). Other than that, it is perfect. There is no evidence that anyone ever read it; it's pristine.

This is a pristine copy of Just So Stories for Little Children, Rudyard Kipling's classic collection of children's stories, all involving animals, first published in 1902.
Kipling illustrated the stories himself. This is the Folio Society's edition, which features all of his original illustrations.
The Folio Society first published this book in 1991; this is its 10th printing, dated 2005. As you would expect from the Folio Society, it is a beautiful book.
There is talcum powder on the back cover; I've removed most of it. Other than that, it's in mint condition.
