Description:
Altonae: Joh. Frid. Hammerich, 1813. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Fair-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Thin flex boards with marble design. This appears to be the original binding and is heavily worn and nearly all the spine is missing. The low condition grade is only because of the exterior and the front cover is barely hanging on by a few scraps. Too much movement and it will detach, so it needs to be reinforced. The interior binding is in much better shape end pages are tight and secure. The inside of the front cover has a vintage bookplate along with some writing showing this book belong to N. F. Shaffer of Gettysburg College. His signature, and pencil also appears at the top of the first title page. This book actually has two title pages, one immediately following the first. A very uncommon title to find in the original 1813 printing.

Description:
Lipsiae: Apud Iohannem Ambrosium Barth, 1825. 3rd Edition . Hardcover. Fair-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, marbled paper covered boards which used to be half bound in leather to corners and spine. The exterior is in poor condition with the spine covering completely gone, boards are heavily worn as are corners and sides. The front board is literally hanging on by a single string that will surely break and the board will then be detached if this is not immediately addressed. When the photos were taken it was held on by two pieces but one piece of string broke. The interior portion is in far better condition. Pages are darkened but the binding is very strong and pages are secure. There is nothing torn or loose and there is no handwriting that was found. There is a dampstain on the upper outside corner though this is mainly limited to the exterior of the book. This is only volume 3 which covers the gospel of John.
