Exterior shows a few drops and wipe marks which can really only be seen when you hold the book at an angle to the light. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are clean and bright like book was never used. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks, nothing torn or loose. The only evidence of handwriting found in the book is on the front end page where there is faint remnants a price that was once penciled in the corner and then later erased.

Exterior shows fading on the rear board and spine. The internal binding is good and pages are tight like the book was never read. Text pages are clean but the end pages and pastedowns show toning and foxing. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings, no remainder marks.

New York: Matthceus(?) Reichert, 1861. Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards quarter bound with leather to spine. Exterior shows spotting and soiling as well as edge and corner wear. There are a few small holes in the cloth and the rear board has a circular stain in the center. The internal binding is good, except for some minor pulling in the section of offset pages that starts around page 203. The front pastedown contains an inscription stating this was from the Library of the Redemptorists Fathers, and the title page contains a stamp stating "Redemptorist Library, St. Alphonsus Church of New Orleans. There is also a very faint stamp near the lower outside corner of the same page. Various degrees of foxing is present throughout with some pages being very minor and others showing quite a bit. Indianapolis / New York: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1948. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. The original price of $3.00 is still present on the front flap. DJ shows spotting and scuffing along with edge chips and small tears. The underside of jacket was neatly reinforced with masking tape along the top and bottom, over the decades the tape is become dry and brittle and can easily be detached just by flexing the paper (the bottom piece already came off). The dry tape glue residue still remains on the underside of the jacket though. Red cloth boards underneath the clean and corner sharp. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or personal bookplates, no handwriting, no remainder marks, nothing torn or loose. Hardcover, red cloth boards three quarter bound with cream cloth, leather label to spine. Stereo shows smudges as well as corner bumps, spine label is chipping. Interior binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings. Front end page has very faint evidence of price once penciled in the corner. Pages are toned due to age. Many page sections are still uncut though the page quadrant for pages 135/136/137/138 shows where somebody separated the pages - likely with their finger as the outside edges (where the uncut pages were connected) shows large chips and tears. No other page sections have this issue.

Hardcover, black cloth boards with white text on front and spine. Exterior shows a few smudge marks and only very light wear to corners. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No hinge issues, no handwriting, no signatures, no bookplates, no library markings etc. Pages are clean with no issues noted.

Hardcover, red cloth boards with black and gilt design on front and spine. Includes large foldout map attached in rear of book. Dark brown end pages, previous owner signature lightly penciled on second end page along with a price in the corner. Binding good, no torn or loose pages. Pages are lightly toned but overall clean. An attractive copy - see photos.

Philadelphia, PA: Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, 1937. Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, Luke cloth boards with gilt text on front and spine. Exterior shows minor edge and corner bumps/wear, board shows some soiling with some light spots to the front, spine is mildly faded. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are toned due to age and some minor spotting and foxing is present. Front end page contains two stamps showing the name Lewes D. Orton. No other handwriting or markings found.

New York: S. R. Wells & Co., 1878. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blue cloth boards blindstamped with black and gilt. Canary yellow end pages. Front and rear pastedowns has a stamp of the owners name and address and front hinge just starting to split. Front end page has some partially erased pencil markings and rear end page shows light pencil scribbles. No handwriting noted on any of the text pages. Exterior boards show edge and corner wear as well as darkening. There is a light stain on the front board near the upper right corner. Pages are brown due to age and quality of paper and foxing is noted, including several areas where there's large spots from where the paper reacted with other paper it had come in contact with. Last end page has a small chip missing out of the upper corner.

New York and Chicago: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1919. Hardcover. VG+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, yellow cloth boards with black design. Exterior shows only minor handling wear and corners are still sharp. Interior pages are quite tanned due to poor quality of paper used. No signatures or bookplates present. Front end page shows very faint evidence of a price was penciled in the corner.

New York: Young People's Missionary Movement, 1909. Soft cover. VG+. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Softcover, gray card stock wraps with black design on front, text on spine. Front cover shows very little wear except for some edge fading, spine is sunned and rear cover has raised brown spots. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings. Paper is toned due to age and there is some foxing present though this is mainly happening on the pages around the illustrations and is caused by the two different types of paper reacting. Rear of book still contains the foldout map which is crisp with no issues. Uncommon to find in this good condition.

Reading, PA : Pilger-Buchhandlung, 1899. 3rd Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, pale olive green cloth boards, ornately decorated on front and spine. Exterior shows scuffing and light soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. There is the original owner's info on the back of the front end page along with a 1903 date. No other handwriting noted, no bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. The book is in German though it was printed in the United States.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1884. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, green cloth boards with gilt to spine. Boards have some minor spotting and a small scratch on the front. Dark brown end pages and front and rear. No bookplates present. 1897 gift inscription on second end page and a couple pages are neatly stamped " Return to Viola M. Sengstack". Pages are toned due to age but binding is tight, no hinge cracks. Only page issues found was with 213-218 where it appears the bottom of the pages were not fully cut, so were separated by the reader. Of these, page 217 has a tear along the fore edge. See photos.

Hardcover, brown cloth boards with gilt to spine boards are a overall clean but spine shows chipping at top and bottom and a small crack near center. Pages are lightly toned due to age and some minor foxing is present. Original owner's name and address them neatly penned on front end page. Binding is good, no hinge cracks. Front end page has small tear of about 1/2 inch and there is faint evidence of an old store price once penciled in the corner.

New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1888. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, red cloth boards show toning and spotting and spine is lightened with three vertical marks near the center. External edges and corners also show some bumping. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. This is an old ex-library copy from a religious establishment. The front pastedown contains a label stating it was from St. Francis Xavier Library of Gettysburg PA. The title page also contains a circular embossed seal which says, in part, that it came from the St. Francis Xavier School. There is also a name written on the label on the frontispiece as well as the title page, presumably this is the teacher who use the book in the classroom. The rear of the book has a small simple piece of paper tipped in that says "Must be returned". No other markings are found in the book. Hardcover, green cloth boards are clean with only very minor dusting spots, spine is slightly darkened and edges and corners show almost no wear. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. The only evidence of handwriting found in the book is on the front end page, where you can just barely see a price that was once penciled in the corner and then later erased. The pastedowns and opposite end pages show some spotting and foxing. The only other issue worth pointing out is the original bookstore label on the front pastedown as the outside corner of it is stuck to the front end page.

Boston, MA: DeWolfe & Fiske Co., 1890. Hardcover. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Full title reads: The Apocryphal New Testament, Being All Gospels, Epistles, And Other Pieces Now Extant, Attributed In First Four Centuries To Jesus Christ, His Apostles, And Their Companions, And Not Included In The New Testament By Its Compilers, Translated From The Original Tongues, And Now First Collected Into One Volume. Book exterior is brown cloth boards with gilt on spine. Cloth is clean but has some light scuffing, almost like wipe marks. And pages show toning but no signatures or bookplates a present. Pages are toned and binding is tight. No author or publication date (1890 for this publisher) is listed. Printed on eight slightly heavier bond paper than typical.

Washington DC: Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1916. Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Red cloth boards with full front paper pastedown. Boards shows edge and corner wear/bumping, soiling is present. No author listed and only publication date is 1916 by Raphael Tuck & Sons, with the statement saying 'Reproduced by special permission'. Illustrated throughout photographs pertaining to WWI and the horrors as well as Biblical illustrations. Binding is strong and well made with reinforced hinges. No torn or loose pages. Foxing and spotting is noted throughout with the most appearing on the end pages. No signatures or bookplates.

Exterior and spine shows quite a bit of spotting to the cloth to where the sheen is worn off. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are tone due to age and some minor foxing is present with the worst being on the end pages. The title Ars Recte Vivendi loosely translates to "The Art of Living Right". Front pastedown shows a bookplate from Charles J. Bonaparte and opposite end page has a signature as well as a Christmas dedication which reads: "C. J. Bonaparte, in memory of his old friend from E. C. B., Xmas 1897". Charles Joseph Bonaparte was an American lawyer and political activist and served in the cabinet of the 26th U.S. President, Theodore Roosevelt.
