Three lovely large views taken in Venice, Italy c. 1870. All colorfully hand painted and on beautiful decorative mounts with title, credit "A. Perini" and number of image from series on recto. Classic views of Venice and most interestingly each image contains figures in the foreground likely posed by the photographer to enhance the image, including a street peddler, a trio of gondoliers and a photographer. Images measure 12 3/4" x 10 1/2" each, mounts measure 18 1/2" x 15 each. Prints are in very fine condition, some light foxing on mounts, one mount has a crease upper left corner as seen in images.

Mid century portrait Carte-de-Visite of an artist painting a portrait with a spirit appearing in background by A. Villeneuve. Photographer's credit printed verso and recto. 'Galerie Historique' publisher credit printed on verso. Good condition, some wearing to edges, very light foxing as seen in images.

A wonderful one of a kind original framed 21" x 17" Frank Lloyd Wright montage comprised of (8) original portraits of the master architect mounted on another large image of the Johnson Wax Building Ceiling pattern. (5) of the images initialed "FLLW" one with a 1957 date. Photographer's credit with name affixed to the photograph. These are all original photographs with actual signature of Frank Lloyd Wright. Print sizes range from 7 1/4" x 5" to 3" x 1". Prints are in fine condition with few, fine deposits, some dust behind the glass as seen in images. Last image is a scan of the papers inside the envelope attached to the back of the frame that give more information behind the pictures and photographer including a typed letter sent to the photographer from Frank Lloyd Wright's secretary.

A wonderful little 4" x 5" photo of American author Lillian Hellman (1905-1984) walking barefoot along the beach in Martha's Vineyard where I believe author and photographer had homes, c. 1970. Photographed by Alfred Eisenstaedt (American, 1898-1995). Credited on back of print by Hellman "Photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt." Housed in a manilla envelope with the following inscription "Tom Sloans: The enclosed photo can be used on jacket if you wish providing you promise not to change it - please leave ratio of sea and me the same! I'll be dead if you forget picture credit - my friend:" An excellent vintage gelatin silver print on double weight matte paper.

Two individual pages printed on only one side listing 96 photographs preceded by a brief paragraph description of the exhibition. Provenance: An American Place, Georgia O'Keefe, Sotheby's.

(7) handbills created from Stieglitz's hand drawn graphics, (3) checklist announcements: (1) for Marin, (1) for Dove, (1) for Demuth, Dove, Hartley, Marin, O'Keefe, Strand and (1) review by Ralph Flint printed titled '"291" Again!' Fine condition, browning along edges of most papers.

A large view, on the original mount imprinted: "Firenze" and "Piazza Del Granduca" along with the blind stamp of "Fratelli Alinari." A fine 1850's salt print with details so precise you can read the shop signs in the background. One can also see blurs cast by figures that have moved during time of exposure. A shadow appears across the buildings along the Piazza, not quite sure if this is a defect in the plate or an actual shadow. Numbered "16." in the negative. Image measures 10" x 13 ½"; Mount, 15" x 22 ½". In fine condition with one fine line lower left that looks like it can be easily removed.

An excellent albumen print on original imprinted mount commemorating a coach club race from Slevin's Snug Hotel, 211-213 Bleecker Street to College Point. L.I. (Now Queens). Image, 10" x 13 ¾"; Mount, 15" x 20". Titled "Wyanoke Coaching Club, September 13th, 1885, from Slevin's Snug Hotel, 211 and 213 Bleecker St., to Boulevard Hotel, College Point, L.I." A large group of the members of the Wyanoke Coaching Club in suit and tie with bowler hats. In cleaner condition that one typically sees with this kind of memorial print. The photographers' credit imprinted on mount recto "Long & Heppner, Photos., 327 East 34th Street, New York". Some damp staining to mount upper right as seen in image. Print rich, dark and clean.

An original photograph in a wooden frame of 21,000 officers and men posed in formation comprising the profile of Woodrow Wilson. Frame 14 1/2" x 11 1/2"; image 14" x 11". Portrait of Evelyn Waugh (1903-1966) and his family. Waugh was an English writer of novels, biographies, and travel books who was also a prolific journalist and book reviewer. Vintage gelatin silver print on glossy single weight paper, 8" x 10" Typed caption about Waugh and his family on verso. Very good condition. Slight wear and creasing along corners. Very fine wipe marks across photo as seen in image 3.

A pair of albumen photographs mounted on both sides of an album page of fencing competitions, c. 1880. Beautifully executed graphics and rich sepia toned albumen prints. Indecipherable blind stamp in lower right corner of one negative. Each print measures 7 1/4" x 9 3/4", album page measures is 11" x 14". Album page is minimally warped, has some light browning and a few small chips around the edges. Prints are in very fine condition, light surface abrasions visible only under specular light.

Numbered in pencil in the negative. Good condition. Thin/fragile mount pages. Some foxing to mount visible in photos.

A c. 1910 album of beautiful pictorial sepia toned 4 1/2" x 6" platinum prints on fine matte surface textured papers. Some find portraits of black subjects, possibly Jamaican. Includes a black farmer, cowboys wrangling a steer, Jamaican cotton trees, native women balancing laundry on their heads. The rest of verdant mountain landscapes, many with figures, camping and some geyser pools possibly in the American West. Loosely inserted in album pages. Spine missing, covers worn but the images are exceptionally beautiful.

A charming two-hole string tie album containing hundreds of photos: snapshots, commercial and travel pictures of various sizes, 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" to 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". Very neatly and carefully titled with locales and dates. Photos are mounted with black corners. A couple of hand drawn maps of the journey. Gilt embossed 'Photographs' on cover. Very good condition. A wonderful 8" x 6" bromide print on double weight glossy paper of three patriots celebrating the end of Spanish rule in the Philippines Archipelago, posing with banner "Adelante La Colonia Filipina" and another banner "Centro Filipino de Rella Octubre 1899." "Photographie - Philippine" written in pencil on verso. Fine condition, wearing along edges as seen in images, linear indentations across print visible under specular light as seen in image.

A large mounted albumen print c. 1880s of the back of a man with tattoo of ELIZABETHAN CHARACTERS. "Tatouage" written in ink on recto and various hand written notations on verso. Mount 10 1/2" x 8"; Print 6 1/2" x 5". Printed on semi-gloss paper. Good condition. Wear and browning along edges of mount, top right corner of mount is chipped, print has scattered indentations noticeable under specular light as seen in images.

A late 19th century folio titled in manuscript on the cover "Photographie" Exotiques" and contains (21) tipped in bromide prints with hand written titles on each page, (19) are approx. 5" x 8" and (2) are 5 1/4" x 4". (15) of the prints are portraits of Creole women sporting their unique style of dress and the remaining (6) are views of tourist subjects, mostly landscapes. Prints are mostly in good condition, a few have tearing along the edges or corners, one has a crease running along the bottom quarter of the print as seen in images; foxing throughout album pages and covers as seen in images. Folio appears to have been section sewed but pages and covers are now detached.

Portrait of American playwright and novelist William Inge (1913-1973) by anonymous. Vintage gelatin silver print on semi-gloss double weight paper, 10" x 8". Very good condition. Minimal wear to edges and corners. Two small linear indentations in top left corner as seen in image 3. Small foxing marks on left edge of photograph as seen in image 4.

A fine large portrait of the great inventor and one of the last formal portraits of Edison before his death. Inscribed in pencil on verso "This is about the last picture of Mr. Edison taken at his famous laboratory, West Orange, N.J. 1930." A beautiful closeup headshot on cream colored double weight matte paper. Some silvering around the edges and a minor diagonal corner separation in lower right as seen in image 2.
