While there appears to be little wear on the surface, the one spine crease reveals a weakness in the binding between pages 72 and 73, where the spine can be seen through a near break. Nothing is loose and the rest of the pages are quite tight, but gentle handling will be required to keep this book intact. This is a fantasy mystery, where the intended victim, well known actor, Winstanley Fortescue, falls off a ladder and lands on the backstage cat, Montmorency D. Mousa. This results in each being catapulted into the other's body. As the cat, Winstanley finds that his incident wasn't really an accident after all. Meanwhile, as the human, the confused cat recuperates in a hospital bed, still in danger from the erstwhile killer.

No dust jacket. Green cloth covers show wear along the edges and at the corners, with a significant spot of wear at the bottom edge of both the front and rear cover (see photos). Both spots are

Trade paperback. A story of murder in an exclusive boarding school for girls. A tale of mystery and suspense. Very minor wear, like a book gets from time on a shelf. There is, however, one rather large red sticker on the spine (see photos). The purpose of the sticker is unknown to me, and I chose not to remove it because of the good chance of leaving some adhesive behind, and who needs that? First Edition.

A small amount of wear along some of the edges of the dust jacket. The book shows little wear other than the spine is a bit skewed due to its immense size (see photo #6). Pages are clean, tight and unmarked, with many color illustrations. The second volume, dealing with rare fishes and plants. A fairly rare book. I also have the much more common first volume. British writer of mysteries and thrillers, Desmond Bagley began as a worker in the aviation industry before emigrating to South Africa, where he took up writing as a full time career. He published seventeen novels, as well as being a freelance writer and film critic. Bagley died in 1983. For a 50+ year old paperback, this copy is in great condition. Owner's name inside front cover. Modern children and traditional grandfather collide. Good book for a child beginning to read chapter books. 132 pages, including glossary. A fairly rare book.

Very little wear. The lower right corner appears to have been exposed to moisture at some time. No staining, but a slight waviness to that area of most pages. Otherwise, pages appear to be clean and tight. Hundreds of organic concoctions to keep our lawn and garden flourishing.
