Very good copy. Original dark blue cloth on laid paper. Decorative gilt on spine and gilt lettering on front panel.
Boards clean with very slight wear at tips. Spine ends slightly pinched. Binding tight. Edges untrimmed. Top edge a little dusty.
Internally clean. No foxing or spotting.
Minor inscriptions in pencil on first blank dated 1906.
A lovely copy. Includes works such as On Baile's Strand, In The Seven Woods and The Shadowy Waters with a Preface by Yeats dated 18 May 1906.

Near Fine copy of Baedeker's Handbook for Travellers with 72 maps, 19 plans and 12 panoramas with the very scarce original dust jacket.
Book is near Fine. Soft leather boards are in Fine condition having been protected by DJ. Binding is in very good condition.
Edges marbled. Internally clean free of foxing, markings or inscriptions except for previous owner name in pencil on title page and previous sale price and year in pencil on half title.
DJ has age related wear with chipping at extremities and closed tears at folds (see images).
A very scarce title with DJ particularly in such condition. It includes rare publisher's slip on detaching sections, if desired.

Very good copy of the third edition of Baedeker's Handbook for Travellers. This is the last edition of this handbook for Lower Egypt. 14 maps, 33 plans, 7 views and 76 vignettes. Book is very good. Soft leather boards clean. Binding tight. Edges marbled. Light cracking of hinge inside front cover but still very firm (see images).Cover has very small wear at corners and head and tail of spine.Only marking or inscription is name and address of previous owner in pencil on first blank with previous sale price and edition also in pencil. Tiny bookseller label on front pastedown.
Overall, a well preserved copy of an uncommon title.

Baedeker's Handbook for Travellers. 1955. Twenty first edition with 19 maps and plans and 109 sketches. Lovely near Fine copy in clean cloth covered flexible boards. Two ribbon markers. Internally clean. No markings or inscriptions except for tiny marking in pencil on first blank (see photos).
Laid in is contemporary map of Central London (may have been attached at some stage). Very well preserved.
A lovely quaint copy from nearly sixty years ago.

A near fine First Edition of the author's brilliant reconstruction of life in England between the wars. Mr. Blythe highlights a number of key episodes and personalities which typify the flavour of those two extraordinary decades. The essays cover diverse episodes and personalities such as the Jarrow March and The Rector of Stiffkey.
Mr. Blythe is perhaps best known for his work Akenfield (1969), an account of agricultural life in Suffolk in the first half of the 20th century.
This book is in excellent condition. Cloth bound boards with gilt lettering on spine. Contents remarkably clean with no spotting, foxing or marking except for a a previous resale price and 1st ed. written in pencil on fep. Pages very slightly toned which adds to it's charm.
A most handsome book.
