Self-published in Manchester, NH, in 1953, 1st edition. Signed by the author. A biography of Walter Kittredge (1834-1905), a self-taught musician from New Hampshire who wrote and performed more than 500 songs and ballads. Many dealt with the Civil War, including When They Come Marching Home; The War Will Be Over Soon; and his most famous tune, Tenting on the Old Camp Ground, which was sung by both Union and Confederate soldiers. 124 pp., with lyrics to some songs. Five plates with 10 b&w photographs, including a frontispiece portrait of Kittredge. 8vo clothbound hardcover. VG with some fading and browning, slight bow to the front cover. Limited, light foxing, but text and illustrations generally clean. No dust jacket, but possibly not issued with one. A solid copy overall. Uncommon with the author's signature.

In this novel, a boy sets out to crack the case of who is stealing from his locker during basketball practice. 128 pages. Illustrated. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. Handsomely bound in dark blue leather (spine and corners) and blue linen. Gilt lettering and decoration. Gilt top page edge. VG with modest wear and signs of age, Some spotting of the page edges, but text clean and unmarked. An unusually nice binding for a book of this type. Evidently one of the special "author's editions" noted by Winthrop University of South Carolina, which houses Christopher's books and papers. No binder's name or other marks. Scarce thus.

Includes his extensive writings on philosophy, history, and aesthetics, along with his translations, reviews, essays, and miscellaneous works. Text is in Italian. 481 pp. 8vo. Issued in paperbound form, but this copy nicely re-bound in hardcover with patterned green paper and leather spine label. Original wraps bound in. Author signature in purple ink on the copyright page, but it appears to be a facsimile or stamp. Good condition. Modest external wear. Text pages browned, but not brittle. Sound, tight binding. A solid, attractive copy of this useful bibliography.

A study of "the excessive sexuality of the Middle Ages," an era marked by "unrestrained wildness and the practice of perversions unknown in earlier times." A frank work that argues the restrictive teachings of the Christian church led to a proliferation of illicit sex, orgies and other forbidden pleasures, and even witchcraft and the Black Mass. 320 pp., with select bibliography and index. 8vo clothbound hardcover in dust jacket. VG/VG. Some edge wear and rubbing to the jacket, but no tears or significant flaws. No price on the jacket, probably because this book was intended to be sold in various countries. Published in Florence to mark the centenary of Pinocchio. A rich fantasy that differs considerably from the tame versions known via Disney and other adaptations.
