Boards are covered in clear Mylar protection, but appear in good condition underneath. Inside a little foxing, and a few finger marks. Otherwise all good. 192 pages. 205 x 245 mm (8 x 9¾ inches).

Wien : Artur Wolf Verlag, 1919. Unique numbered edition of 500; on handmade paper. This portfolio of tipped-in engravings after the originals, comprises 24 loose sheets, as issued. These copper engravings were created as relief engravings based on those found at the Wiener Hofbibliothek. Four page introduction by Dr. Karl Kloss. The portfolio is in good shape, with some rubbing to edges. Inside, the sheets are clean, and the work is complete; but most of the plates have been slightly folded over at the top edge when the portfolio has not been carefully closed over the years. 295 x 270 mm (11½ x 10¾ inches).

The Foreword is written in English, the Elegies in Portuguese. A very nice copy of this work. The cream covers have a touch of handling only, with no significant markings. Very faint foxing to the rear panel. Internally clean and tidy throughout with the lightest of foxing. A limited edition of 250 copies (not numbered). 32 pages. Prestage was the Camões Professor of Portuguese at the University of London. As he stated in the foreword: "The two elegies here reprinted have been selected to show him as a Catholic poet." He goes on to claim that Camões vision of the crucifixion "produces a picture of rare beauty." Camões (1524-80) was a Portuguese poet, primarily known for "The Lusiads".

Boards are slightly handled and a little bumped at corners. Lots of interesting photos - including frontis portrait and large colour fold-out map attached at rear. 351 pages plus map. The second work is "A Tour through Holland, along the right and left banks of the Rhine, to the South of Germany in the Summer and Autumn of 1806." 167 [ii]. pp including index. They planned to write together about mysticism, symbolism, Man's place in the Universe - and so much more. In fact, they were almost ready to publish a book together when Lawrence died.

London: J. Cary, 1793. Very nice clean condition. There is fractional foxing to the edge of the written page (verso) the map itself is clean and tidy with the merest hint of darkening. A couple of tiny marks not affecting detail. . An engraved map of Kent, hand coloured in outline. The detail from Cary's atlas for Kent is visible and legible to the verso. Framed in a simple pale green mounting board. Protected by acid free plastic. John Cary worked from London as a mapmaker, engraver and publisher, towards the last quarter of the 18th century up to around 1830. His "New and Correct English Atlas", first published around 1776, was a benchmark in British topography. He used Copper plates for all his work, despite steel engraving becoming more common at this stage.
