Stokes, 1938, together with a signed letter to a customer.Octavo, first edition, pp. ix, 390, navy cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine, gilt illustration on front, top edge tinted blue, illustrated plates, lacking the dust jacket, book label on front paste-down, gift inscription on front paste-down, inscription from Case on the half-title, ALS from Case tipped in at the back. Case inscribed the book to a longtime customer, Andrew Blackmore, whose wife also inscribed it to him. The letter from Case is to the wife, discussing the Blackmores' plans to retire to a ranch in Arizona, concluding "We all work too hard in this country. What for?"
