After Angela Carter's death from cancer at the age of 51, she left behind an extensive working library. Her estate commissioned Sebastian Carter of Rampant Lions Press to design a small bookplate that reads 'From the Library of Angela Carter', which was inserted into the front endpaper of each book.

Internally clean, inscribed by Angela Carter on the title page to noted American science fiction writer Lisa Tuttle, and her then partner Christopher Priest: "For Chris and Lisa, Best Wishes, Angela." A very nice association copy indeed.

Winner of the Somerset Maugham Prize in 1968, Several Perceptions is Angela Carter's third novel. Set in the Vietnam era, the insular urban vignettes focus on 22-year-old unemployed Joseph. Several Perceptions is notable for its Alice in Wonderland references, and the surreal book cover image reflects the collage-like nature of the novel.

Inscribed by the author to the title page:"To Lisa - Best Wishes, Angela"The recipient is Lisa Tuttle, award winning science fiction author who very much shared Carter's desire for feminist interrogation of existing tropes, or the practice of asking "New questions of old texts", a direct quote from Tuttle, in the service of a kind of feminist revisionist mythology, the practice of which Angela Carter all but perfected in works like The Bloody Chamber, and The Magic Toyshop. A nice association in lovely condition.

The first collected edition of this wildly popular, but now mostly forgotten playwright's work. Susanna Centlivre was considered the second woman of English stage, after her contemporary Aphra Behn, and the most successful playwright of the 18th century. Her plays, including Wonder! A Woman Keeps a Secret, Perjur'd Husband, and Bold Stroke for a Wife remained in production for 200 years. With an engraved portrait frontispiece and including an account of her life.

Fly leaves stained. Volume 1 has light damage to top of spine and loose front flyleaf. Volume 2 has light mark to the front board and minor loss to one page corner. All three volumes have a bookplate with name removed; second owner's name "J.W. Willett Merly House" written neatly above. Charming set of plays in very good condition.

First edition, first printing. Barbara Comyn's second novel, set in 1930's London, is an intense and dark account of a marriage's failure, childbirth, and financial difficulty. Our Spoons goes into significant details about an arduous pregnancy and delivery, and as Emily Gould notes in The Paris Review, this was provocative and unusual for 1950. She explains, "Comyns elevates what might have been a commonplace melodrama about a girl led astray into much more unusual sort of novel."
A cult classic by an underrated writer. Incredibly rare and highly desirable.
Hardcover, 223 pp. Green cloth binding, very slight toning on edges and almost imperceptible wear on the top and bottom edges of the spine. Original jacket, shows age related darkening, toning of the spine and signs of wear around the edges, and a minor scratch on the centre of the front cover. Significant foxing in the edges of the book, no markings or annotations. Binding is intact. Overall in very good condition.

1925. An overflowing scrap book of cherished ephemera belonging to Ruth Irene Cox, documenting the "author's" high school years. Cox was clearly active in her high school years, as well as a dedicated archiver. From Football scorecards to newspaper reviews of Orchestras, the album contains three years of high school ephemera carefully preserved and annotated. Her membership in the Young Women's Christian Association, The Glee Club, and The Girl Reserves among many other clubs are all detailed.
