Simplistic illustrations make sense of some concepts that arguable among denominations. Written from the Church of Christ, a breakaway Campbellite group, it stays pretty much to scripture, adhering to Campbell's "speak where scripture speaks and stay silent where scriptures are silent".

Previous owner signature on first title page. Written by Dominican priest in late 1500's, Duran believed natives could not be converted because of thier pagan beliefs. As he studied them, he became absorbed in their culture. Did extensive research over the years compiling two books. It wasn't until 1867 that the first Spanish edition became public and much later for the first English translation.This book took hundreds of years to come to this edition, complete with the drawings done by Duran. A must have for collectors of Meso American culture and religion

Written by his daughter, as told to Pete Martin. Curtis Publishing Company held the copyright in 1956 and Diane Disney Miller had the 1957 copyright. 1979 Revised edition. VG Blue cloth covers 9.25"x6.25" VG d/j with some nicks with mylar collector. INSCRIBED and laid in personal lettter with names of comrades. A very clean tight and bright copy. Author was a POW captured in Java in 1942, part of the Texas Lost Battalion which included the remnants of the "Houston". Prisoners for 42 months, they were not heard for 2 years and most presumed they were dead. One of those books you have to read and collect.
